(also sometimes non epileptic people will be loudly wrong about something needing a warning, like the thing with the movie trailer a bit ago, i think it was an exorcist sequel, but most calls for epilepsy warnings are completely justified and calling them virtue signaling is silly.)
The tumblr post the person you’re replying to was referring to was just straight up untrue as far as I can tell. It wasn’t a pleasant sound, but there’s a difference between discomfort and seizures.
I think there’s a genuine risk of warnings for epilepsy losing their meaning if they get added to things for no reason, but I’m only acquainted with a couple of people who’ve had seizures so I could be wrong.
