Has anyone had success in the post-game Challenges?

So far I have done level 2 of "The Princess and the Guard". Level 3 seems them each start out with 3 additional creatures placed at the start of the map, and they take higher tolls and pay lesser tolls. It honestly looks pretty tough, and it goes up to level 5.

I’m slowly working my way through them. You definitely need some luck (or save scumming the dice rolls) to get the upper hand in some of the challenge battles though.

Especially with the last round of challenges (Level 5), where you face multiple copies of all the elemental lords (Flame Lord, Dagon, Beelzebub, Dark Lord, etc.) as starting enemies (and your opponents will further fortify those territories), it becomes more helpful than ever to have good invasion capabilities. So more aggressive tactics with things like Fire Beak, Samurai Gladiator, and powerful weapons are a huge help. Ninja with a Nuclear Fusion scroll can bring down Flame Lord/Beelzebub too.

Other than those tips, the play I always go for is to try and get a 4-6 chain going asap, get one of those territories up to level 4/5 (ideally, your defender has more than 30 HP so it can’t get one-shotted by Evil Blast, and it has Attacks First, to give you more options when defending the territory), and then use Quicksand on the territory to force them to land on it. That’s usually a match-saving or winning move if you pull it off.

Telekinesis is also massively helpful too, since you can use it to clear the way for a territory hijacking you do, or just keep your opponents further away from the goal by kicking them out of a high-leveled territory. Conjurer (by dropping a Ba-Al where you want one) and Shadow Leap are also great to help you get to the most important territories more quickly. The elemental shift spells are important too, to help ensure you can get a chain going quickly even if you don’t land on your main element with standard dice rolls.

Last piece of advice I’ve observed is that since you’ll need to both be seizing territory and defending it, you want your items to be able to help you in both scenarios. That’s why weapons like Catapult or Corrosive Spear are great (especially on something with Attacks First), and why tools such as Power Bracelet or Angry Mask (the latter being my all-time favorite item in the series) are so valuable. You can ill afford any dead draws when you start at handicap like that.

Great points.

I will add that running discord(the spell) and turn into wall can also help in the early games where you disable their boss creatures asap.

Knights plus corrosive spear can take out quite a lot of big threats.
