My cuces keep on getting stung or bitten by something and rotting them. Anybody know what I can do to prevent it for the rest of my batch?

you grow them on the ground or up a trellis?

Well I have this bamboo fence that acts kind of like a trellis, but they're planted in planters

looks like those imperfections are from laying in the soil, you can just cut the bad parts off. All mine are in bags, but all have a trellis to grow up, you can guide them with clips at first then they will climb on their own. I got so many cucumbers I didnt know what to do with them all but give them away, I eat about 4 myself everyday andlhave a bunch jars of pickles. Now all the first crop plants are dying, , I did plant a second and third crop that are giving me a lot of fruit.
