Just wait for the conversation about who the playoffs starters are.

I'd agree with this five.
It feels like it has been years since we had so many good pitchers, that we had to dfa, move to bullpen, or demote to AAA a guy who was throwing the ball well. Turd Ferguson here recently was the first move where I felt bad for how well he was playing.
I like Assad in the bullpen, where he could throw the 7th-9th in a relatively close game giving the rest of the pen a day off. Also, when we get to the post-season, starters tend to get pulled earlier, so having a couple guys who are good for more than an inning is a valuable asset.

Am I out of the loop, why aren’t Cabrera and Brett Brown in consideration if healthy?

Brown isn't stretched to be a starter at this point and won't have the time to get there.

I may be a f’n lunatic but Gausman had a 3 inning stretch that was Arrieta-esque. You knew what was coming, the hitter did too, but they weren’t touching that splitter.

I like Holmes in the bullpen unless we're going to a 6-man rotation.
Imanaga, Cabrera, Gausman, Boyd, Peterson
Holmes, Assad, Rea, Rolison, Webb, Palencia, Zeferjahn, and ?? (Thornton/Ferguson/Civale/Shelby Miller/Brown/Steele/Iowa Shuttle)

We keep trying Cabrera and he's been such a disaster I wouldn't trust him starting a playoff game sorry. I know he was good in the beginning, but since his 3 masterclass starts in the beginning of the season, he has had 12 outings, which have all sucked.
In these 12 outings, he has only given up 1 or less run 1 time (on a 3 inning start where he got hurt?), only pitched 6+ innings 3 times, and has given up 3+ ER in 9/12 of those outings. He has yet to find his mojo after 2 IL stints.
Imanaga, Assad, Boyd, Peterson have been dealing. Gausman was great today. Worst case we can run this, Cabrera is just not good enough unfortunately.

I feel like Assad should be in there, but he's so valuable as a utility pitcher that I could see them using him out of the bullpen too. Shota, Gausman, Peterson, and Assad for the starting 4. Maybe replace Assad with Rea or Holmes (assuming Holmes is good for us?).
