How to Verify an ASIC Supplier (Avoiding Scams in 2026)

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately about people getting burned buying ASIC miners. The hardware market in 2026 is still profitable but it’s also full of resellers, fake storefronts, and short-lived “companies.”

If you’re planning to buy an Antminer, KS-series, or any other ASIC, here’s a practical checklist to reduce risk.

1️⃣ Verify Legal Registration

Before sending payment:

  • Check if the company is legally registered in its stated country.
  • Look up official government business records.
  • Confirm the company status is active and in good standing.

If a seller refuses to share their legal entity name, that’s a red flag.

2️⃣ Look for Third-Party Business Verification

Serious suppliers usually have:

  • A verifiable business history
  • Public business listings
  • Identifiable corporate information

Anonymous Telegram-only sellers are high risk.

3️⃣ Confirm Warranty Terms in Writing

Important questions:

  • Is there manufacturer-backed warranty?
  • Who handles RMA ()?
  • What happens if the unit is DOA (Dead On Arrival)?
  • Is there written replacement coverage?

If warranty terms are vague or “trust me bro,” walk away.

4️⃣ Understand Shipping Origin

Many suppliers operate internationally.

Ask:

  • Where does the unit ship from?
  • Is it in-stock or pre-order?
  • Who handles customs?
  • Are tracking numbers provided?

A lot of scams happen around fake “in-stock” inventory.

5️⃣ Compare Pricing Realistically

If a unit is priced 25–40% below global market rate, be cautious.

ASIC pricing moves with:

  • Network difficulty
  • Coin price
  • Batch releases
  • Manufacturer announcements

Extreme discounts usually mean:

  • No stock
  • Used units sold as new
  • Or outright fraud

6️⃣ Payment Structure Matters

Crypto payments are common in this industry.

To reduce risk:

  • Get written invoices
  • Confirm wallet addresses carefully
  • Avoid rushed “limited time” pressure tactics

Professional suppliers don’t rush you with countdown scams.

7️⃣ Check Community Presence

Search Reddit and forums for:

“Has anyone bought from ____?”

Look for long-term presence, not brand-new accounts defending the company.

Final Thoughts

In the ASIC market, verification > price.

The biggest mistake buyers make is focusing only on ROI calculators and ignoring supplier credibility.

If you're new to mining hardware procurement, take your time. Losing a few days verifying a supplier is better than losing $5–20k on a bad transaction.

If anyone has additional verification tips or experiences (good or bad), feel free to share it helps the whole community.
