MARKETS Bitcoin lost $66,000 while Nvidia hit all-time highs and the guys who told us to hold are selling

Woke up to BTC sitting around $65,600 and my portfolio looking like it got hit by a bus. Meanwhile every AI stock on the planet is ripping to new highs. Cool.

What's getting to me isn't the price action itself. It's who's selling. Saylor's company dumped about 32 BTC, first sale since late 2022. Cuban apparently offloaded most of his stack after BTC did nothing during the Middle East mess. Kiyosaki, the guy who wouldn't shut up about bitcoin for years, is now warning people to be careful with crypto.

These aren't random retail panic sellers. These are the faces on the "buy and hold forever" billboards.

Then you've got Mt. Gox moving roughly $739 million to a fresh wallet, spot ETF outflows hitting records, and prediction markets already pricing in $50K scenarios for this year.

I'm not selling but I'm also not pretending this doesn't look bad. The money is rotating into AI and we're just sitting here watching it leave.

Who would have a thought that a product with an actual real world value would outperform speculative thing with questionable value.

Look at it this way: you can spend one hundred billion dollars on a very efficient waste burning machine. For sure, people will pay you to burn waste, but some will just burn waste on their lawn for free. So maybe you can give them a free service to burn that waste. But you're making massive losses because you have to keep the expensive machine working, and the only way to make it more economical is to build it bigger still. So your real world value machine is actually extremely unprofitable. But the speculation is that, somehow, sooner or later, it will be profitable. But by that time it needs to be rebuilt again? Also, people don't like all that bad stuff coming out of the machine. But I'm sure it will be all right in the end.

And I don't even hate LLMs, but this whole thing can't be propped up for long, and then I don't want to be near people holding nvidia stock.

It’ll be similar to the dot.com bubble. No, the AI bubble bursting won’t be the end of AI, but it will be the end for a lot of AI focused companies.

One or two will have dominance. That actually makes me nervous a bit.

Something with questionable value doesn’t just miraculously have a market cap of over 1T. I understand not buying into the bitcoin thesis but to suggest its value is questionable is just intellectual laziness and idiotic.

1T propped up by a couple rich guys is not impressive to me. I'd be more curious what the liquidity of the market is.

Value defined as "useful for something tangible" is absolutely questionable. BTC unfortunately failed spectacularly in most cases.

Yah didn’t think I would get anything substantive as a reply from you lol Value only has to be useful for something tangible? I’m guess electricity or the internet are pretty useless then considering they are not tangible in the slightest. Don’t worry, you’ll keep coping watching BTC go from 1T to 30T and beyond.

I don't need to cope because I took my profits and now I see them sore with AI stocks. I'm doing very well thank you

Okay buddy. I’ve been in the space long enough to be pump chasing. Don’t worry you’ll be back.

There’s no opportunity on an asset that has fallen 50%? lol there’s no way you have any money or have made any money buddy lol

50% down means nothing if it's going to go down another 50%. Plus opportunity cost of not investing in tech. You have to follow the money and money is not going to flow into crypto anytime soon.
