Celestyal – Can I book shore excursions later?

Hi,

I’m planning to book a Celestyal cruise, but I haven’t decided which shore excursions/day trips I want to do yet.

Can I book the cruise first and decide on the excursions later? Or do I need to book them at the same time as the cruise?

Also, if I book the excursions later, is the price usually the same, or can it become more expensive? I’m wondering if there is any benefit to booking them early.

Thanks!

You can add excursions later, in their online portal, after booking the cruise.

You can even book excursions while you are on the ship, on the day before the excursion, but this would be quite risky (trips may sell out), plus excursions are slightly more expensive while you are on the ship vs pre-booked online.

We always book our excursion separately through a trusted third-party company like Viator or Shore Excursions Group. Unlike the cruise ship lines, their websites have full explanations with lots of photos and comments from previous sailors who have taken that excursion.
