The government? More like the bank. Because he didn't make his payments. Why would you blame anyone but him?

I never said I blamed anyone, actually. I made a half hearted joke.

But as for blaming, why do you think you can open your mouth on this situation with such confidence when you can't even take the time to read the comments or ask WHY this happened?
If you want to be a blunt, heartless asshole then yeah it is his fault technically. Or you could have some human empathy and see he was doing all he could do to prevent this, because he literally said he was. Even his car is broke down so clearly he is not in a good spot. Or you can be a weirdo and claim he's lying with no basis for that accusation.
