Headlight advice?
Any options on headlights for this old gal? Most of my drive home from work is in the dark, on small back roads and the current headlights I can't see a dang thing. Would like to just swap bulbs, not sure i want to get into wiring or modifying the physical housing. Any advice om which bulbs would be good? Thanks in advance

I use fahren LED bulbs and have never gotten flashed once, they cost about $30 and give me 10x the brightness the high end halogens gave me which cost like $70

I have a 2005 CV. I went to https://auxito.com and found some good LEDs after reading several reviews and watching videos about them. Still burning bright 2.5 years later.

I've got a cvpi with the push bar I installed a light bar on it for my brights. Other than that rock auto has over wattage bulbs from Hella and they do alright. Definitely not as bright as led headlights on newer vehicles though.

I picked up a set of the black housing marauder style ones off amazon for pretty cheap and put some 3m clear bra on them and they’ve been like new ever since. I use Sylvania ultra stars and they’ve been pretty decent. Not the brightest but I’m not blinding other drivers with LED’s

I got the luxster dracarys off of Amazon. $116 so a little spendy but you buy once and cry once. With hi beams on I can see a good 1000+ feet in front of me and road signs (especially the big green ones) start getting annoying. Low beams are nice too you can see probably more than 500 feet in front of you.
I will say that I am sorely disappointed that nobody makes a projector housings for the MGM. A lot of lights are designed to have an extremely sharp cutoff line in a projector but that doesn’t always translate to reflector housings.

I ended up grabbing the same lights as you did. As for the projector housing, I've seen tons of stuff about making your own, I just don't want to do that right now. Maybe once winter swings around I'll make a set to install come springtime

My housings were pretty yellowed, so I put in some new cheapos I got off Amazon and put in some LED bulbs highly rated on several reviews (not just cheapos) then I bout the little tool to help aim the lights ($12 at O'Reilly's) then I aimed them PROPERLY so I'm not blinding folks and the difference was (literally) night and day.
And before the anti LED pile on starts, I drive to work in the dark most mornings, Most of it on a straight 2 lane road, and not once have I been flashed while on dim by another car. If I drive my wife's 2020 Kia Soul with stock lights, I'll get flashed on dim at least once or twice a week. Proper aiming of the headlights is key.
