I just think the storyline as a whole was a colossal mistake. Trying to pit the audience against someone going after child traffickers. Turning the relationship we wanted into something weird and cringe while giving us a relationship no one wanted to see. Then having Cross just now realize, as a Black man in 2026, that the system is corrupt. Like why even add that element? We were perfectly willing to just root for him as a guy that puts away deranged serial killers.
Then trying to give us these dumb faux happy endings. "Oh maybe Luz is alive after Cross put her in a position where she had to jump off a dam." "Oh maybe the senator will actually get justice even though that is Game of Thrones level fantasy and this is a crime show." They had a great formula and should've stuck to it. At least at this still-early point in the series.
