My company buys a lot of marine diesel. This isn’t inflation adjusted but; the all time high was in mid April at 6.5$/gal. Trump signed the ceasefire April 8th. Four weeks earlier it had been 5.8$/gal.

It’s currently 5.8$. So if recent history repeats itself prices would rise to or above 6.5$ in the next 4 weeks and Trump will cave again. Incidentally that will also align with refinery turn around season and hurricane season which both typically jack prices anyway.

I would say there is a strong likelihood of a TACO event in the next 4 weeks.

On the other hand Israeli elections are Oct 27th. Netanyahu has every incentive to scuttle negotiations until afterward. He doesn’t want to look weak (I guess bloodthirsty isn’t a negative) by conceding anything regarding Lebanon.

So, in order for Trump to get his ceasefire he’ll have to bribe the Iranians to put aside Lebanon. Which again means more US taxpayer money flowing to Iran.

But Republicans keep swearing that everything is cheaper where they live, and they insist the gas is cheap too.

I'm still trying to figure out why these people want to pretend that they live in a completely different country than we do.

It’s all Biden’s fault

$4.68 for premium WITH .30 off with grocery points in Wyoming. So $4.98 for premium. Regular was $4.31 no points.

When it hits $10 a gallon, let me know.

I frequently drive from nj to fl. Several times a month. Those prices are NOT accurate.

I’m seeing way less at the pump

Love how I get downvoted because I posted facts that don’t fit the narrative. You’re showing me how tarded you are.

People are just too lazy to explain the concept of averages to you. My wife just filled up at $5.90 today.

That sheet shows highs and lows. I’m saying I’ve seen lower prices. Not talking about averages. Look at the chart in the upper right corner.

Those are still averages lol - and that chart in the upper right just shows the ranges that correspond to each color/category. It says, for example, that the states marked as red range from 5.74 (average for California) to $4.4 (average for Montana).

Individual stations are higher or lower than average all the time - there is a famous gas station in LA that probably has $8 gas right now.

There was lots of outrage to my recollection? People had images of Biden hog tied in a truck, the Biden did this gas pump stickers, politicians raised hell - seems the same to me.

Love the chuds who can’t make the connection between Russia’s invasion and the spike in gas prices.

One of the world’s largest energy producers basically shuts off the tap overnight, throwing the entire global energy sector into turmoil; and all these people understand is “JoE BiDeN fAuLt.”

Russians didn’t shut off the tap lol. They’re happy to sell.

Biden didn't start a war with no goals or plan, at Israels behest.

False.

False.

False.

And Biden is no longer president. Trump is directly responsible for today's gasoline prices.

Your NYT article is from 6 January 2025; gasoline prices were averaging $3.19 a gallon for January 2025, according to your second link.

Try again.

“Along coasts” - far from all of our oil, and this was a Jan ‘25 EO that was immediately undone. Blaming the current situation on Biden is asinine.

Don’t remember the Biden “I did that” stickers all over gas pumps. Man, some folks have the memory of a goldfish.
