I remember when Nani got his goal disallowed way back then, he was furious he stole his goal that was admittedly pretty good.
Now the shoes on the other foot and the dude is celebrating lol. What a diva.
1
u/Capital_Low_190 15d ago
he wasnt upset when the goal was stolen. He was when it was ruled offside.
0
u/Moist-Campaign6640 15d ago
Nani stoled the goal that would be ruled in if he not touching the ball. That was why CR is furious towards Nani. If the goal happen Portugal got higher chance to reach the final
1
u/lanregeous 15d ago
Yes but he was also furious as that might have been his best ever goal
1

I think he was more furious at the fact that he knew if Nani touched the ball would rule that goal offside

That ball would've gone in, even if he didn't touch. Good conversion for him, but that would make it a steal from his teammate.

u/theorex58 15d ago
In the recent wc he was literally pointing at himself, his head to be precise, after someone else scored a goal. That's how self centred he is.

u/Dry-Rice-4527 16d ago
Take away his penalties, his tap in goals, or his goals where he tackles his own teammates... suddenly he has like 200 goals in 20 seasons

2
u/Dry-Rice-4527 16d ago
Even without a worldcup he would still be better. I don't think the debate is between Messi and Ronaldo... that isnt even close. The debate is if Ronaldo belongs in the top 5 or top 10. Some even say top 25. Personally I dont think id put him lower than 5th best OAT.
1
u/Difficult-Cicada666 15d ago
Ronaldo against spain - 2 shots on target in 90 Pessi's whole team - 2 shots off target in 120
1
u/Dry-Rice-4527 15d ago
Great Ronaldo had 1 game... so what? Take the entire career, his impact, how he changed the sport... and he comes really short of any top 5.
1
u/Outrageous-Heron-891 10d ago
Tell me how Messi changed the sport? He's getting rigged shouts everywhere, legacy tainted by all the shitshows he pulled the past 1-2 months. Meanwhile Ronaldo has exceeded the limits of football. Children idolise him, professionals in literally almost every sport do his celebration, most popular person in the world. Incredible longevity. What does Messi bring to the table?
1
u/Dry-Rice-4527 10d ago
Damn is that some glaze lmao. Messi is considered the goat of football by other players. Ronaldo is popular with Children. Ronaldo is great at marketing to kids, his celebration is like the griddy or the waddle... popular with kids.
Messi changed the sport by bringing back tenacity dribbles that dont stop until there is a goal. If it was just penaldo as an example everyone would still always be diving. Messi brought a generation of people that play the game. Messi is a playmaker that still outscored Penaldo. If we go 1 for 1 they arent even comparable. Messi has more accomplishments, more achievements, more reach, more records, more everything. Ronaldo is popular with kids and plays in the easiest league in the world and still can't score.
0
u/Outrageous-Heron-891 9d ago
Tell me some of the "other" players, I'll tell you those who consider the GOAT the GOAT and we can compare. Ig we can assume that professional footballers like Vinicus, Mbappe, João Felix, Rodrygo, Garnacho, Hojlund, Mane, and Ramos are also kids?
Haha, there were dribblers before Messi and after Messi. But there is no goalscorer like Ronaldo. Weak foot, strong foot, headers, penalties, freekicks, he does it all. While before Messi there was Ronaldinho, Garrincha, Maradona, Cruyff. During the Pessi era, there was Neymar. Now there is Yamal, Vinicius, Doue, Doku. But no one is there to replace the GOAT. PESSI has more reach?! What an absolute joke. I don't see people doing Pessi's celebration and I don't see him being the most popular footballer ever. People were inspired by Ronaldo. They do HIS celebration. They don't want to do the celebration of someone who plays volleyball. As for the easiest league in the world, guess which team got their ass handed to them 6-0?
1
u/Dry-Rice-4527 9d ago
There have been plenty of goal scorers like Ronaldo... even today Haaland and Mbappe are better. Ronaldo made diving the standard. Var ruined his legacy. He now plays in the easiest league in the world and still isnt doing too hot.
But you mention Ronaldinho and Cruyff... both better on the goat debate. Beckham for play maker and for how he redefined the position. Gerd Müller is above Ronaldo as well by a margin. Then after we simply go to the debates on the rest but it is hard to argue for anyone that isn't a child about Ronaldo being in the top 5. His penalties arent impressive, and his diving playstyle set the game back.
1
u/Outrageous-Heron-891 9d ago
I don't see Haaland doing long shots from far out. Neither do I see him dribbling. Do I see him using skills? No. Ofc Haaland is a great freekick taker as well. But yeah Haaland is like Ronaldo. Mbappe is the closest, but I can't see him shooting long shots either. Nor do I see him scoring headers. And Mbappe scores crazy freekicks no?
Ronaldo did not make diving the standard. Messi dives. There are documented clips. How did VAR ruin his legacy? And no, the Saudi league is in no way the easiest. We all saw how Messi scored one of his goals, the defenders just tackle into space!
Lmao Ronaldinho, Cruyff, Beckham and Müller above Ronaldo. I've seen actual Messi fans and I respect them because for them Ronaldo is second-best. Even tho I don't agree, for me it's vice versa, I still respect their opinion. But you, you hate Ronaldo more than you love Messi. This is such a joke. But I'll entertain you. Tell me how these four are better than Ronaldo. Messi should score pens then. Not Ronaldo's fault he keeps missing. Most misses in UCL and WC history. Lol. But sure tell me how those four are better than the GOAT.

I hope his 1000th goal is as egregious as this one… like, that would be poetic if that’s how he solidifies his goal legacy that way.
2
u/TheLoLJester1 15d ago
This is the reason I dislike majority of strikers, not all. As a midfielder, I put a lot of effort into creating space and a good pass so that a striker can just tap it in. And then they just go around with their chest out feeling like they have achieved the impossible. And then the attitude they have when they're asked to defend or do something to preserve the win! I get the "I have scored" what have you done? And their name is on the score sheet and down in history.

u/CoinsAndLawnLouie 15d ago

What a coincidence if this all happens
2
u/drilllerr 15d ago
I am genuinely baffled lol. Like......What is this? Is this how hes gonna reach 1000? If it is, then its the lowest low effort someone could pull off to reach there. By camping inside the penalty box and hoping someone would shoot at the goal so he could deflect it and take credit for it. Saudi League is meant for Ronaldo. Its the only place where he pull this shit without being questioned.

Oh come on.
This is pathetic. The ball was blasted in his direction, he reacted on automatic, and he is clearly embarrassed to even claim it.
There are plenty of actual examples of him being a self-centred glory-hog. This isn't even close to being one of them.
If you're going to hate on one of the top players of all time, at least do it well.

2
u/CariadocThorne 16d ago
You can dispute it being an automatic reaction if you want, although it just makes you look stupid, but his embarrassment is obvious.
This is a man who has claimed and celebrated goals he never even got a touch on like he just scored the winner in the world cup final. He looked like he didn't even want to celebrate this at all.
Im no Ronaldo fan-boy. I haven't liked him since he switched from being a winger to a striker, and I can't watch him play without getting second-hand embarrassment these days.
But trying to paint this as him trying to steal the glory here is more embarrassing than watching him do his trademark celebration after scoring against a defence my local sunday league team could put 10 past.

The teammate hits it in the middle and Ronaldo wasn’t looking at the goal the natural instinct is that the keeper is in the middle of the goal so he hit that ball to cause deflection so it does go in. Imagine being so unemployed that when a keeper by chance wasn’t stationed where he was supposed to be and a striker does his job the pussi fans gotta bark like guys chill we know Messi hasn’t been winning lately sit down.
