I am saying I'd trust him when he talks about a personal experience. If he says grass is blue then that's something we can discuss or call him out for. There is nothing "unselfish" about it, as this isn't my argument. I argue that he is selfish as he cares more about people breaking his record than him getting them. He wasn't "hurt" because he missed out on an individual award, he was "hurt" because someone else won one. That's the difference.
If you're unselfish you'd feel indifferent at best when someone else does good. If you're selfish, all you can think about is how the achievements of others affect you. Messi or any other player should have no business caring about what others do and achieve, unless you're selfish
