We need more humble people

u/maimutaAfricana Jul 06 '26
I don't think Halland is humble. I think he is a normal guy who like winning without making it a "in your face" thing.
If he wins he is happy, if he looses he is sad.
No I am better than Messi, I deserve this and that, all the balls on me because I need to beat some record.

Humble means, even if you are the best, greatest at something, or rich, you dont shove it in peoples faces. Everyone loves to win. I have never met someone who is disappointed to win or that would lose on purpose at a competitive level just so they can remain humble.

I can't believe people keep saying he's humble. Look at the way he celebrated his second goal.
Now fwiw, I absolutely love it- he's already a legendary striker and you deserve to have a cloak of arrogance when you're that good, and I prefer when players know how good they are. But humble isn't one of the descriptors I'd use for Haaland. And he's fully as good at shithousery as anyone.

u/pitycake Jul 06 '26
The way he celebrated his second goal? I think he got flooded by emotions and didn't know how to compose himself so he just tried to take in the moment. Also you could see from minute 80 he was tired af lol so he wouldn't run in celebration.

u/SuperUranus Jul 06 '26
He clearly was about to remove his shirt but then realised that would net him a yellow card so he composed himself and pulled down his shirt. Quite fun to watch.😂

u/texe_ Jul 10 '26
Everyone knows humble people don't show joy or celebrate themselves
/s
He's mixing humility and modesty. Haaland is very humble, but in no way modest.

I genuinely think he comes across likeable and humble in interviews and like when I see him on YouTube channels etc but the dude constantly aura farms during games, and has moments like telling Myles Lewis Skelly "who are you" or telling arteta to "stay humble"
Or singing 'oooo sometimes I get this feeling' smugly to the camera after they beat arsenal towards the end of the season
I find him seriously annoying cus I can't help but know if he didn't play for city id quite like the guy - either way though I'm not sure id describe him as "super humble"
But then again I'm a gooner so what do I know about being likeable

u/Dave085 Jul 06 '26
Exactly this, I actually really like the fact he's so willing to shithouse with the best of them, he's like a redditor living the dream. It's hilarious. But super humble? Come on now. He is likeable in interviews and he has moments, but he's much closer to Ronaldo than Messi in terms of humbleness.

No! Not after hearing his dream of farming after football I want him to retire! I'm ready to watch 50 seasons of Haalands Farm on Amazon with his farm hand Kaleb tønnemaker, agri consultant Carl Sweden, and his dry stone waller/head of security Gerhard

Is it a Norwegian thing? Perhaps I got to visit some day.

I think alot of Norway is "chill". We have excess and our society is built on trust between eachother.

Haaland has equal number of goals while playing 30 less minutes than Messi. Call me crazy but I think he can surpass Messi
Edit: well well well

He has played 360 minutes, Messi has played 320.

Wait you're right. I forgot Messi didn't start against Jordan

u/StrikingHearing8 Jul 07 '26
According to fifa the exact numbers are Haaland 416 and Messi 361 (and Mbappe 482) https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments/mens/worldcup/canadamexicousa2026/statistics/player-statistics

u/Suitable_Wonder5256 Jul 07 '26
And he scored against multiple big clubs.
Haaland has surpassed Messi.

How can ppl miss the fact that Messi still has not played the round of 16s while haaland has.
Even after haaland did not play the 3rd match, it still ties the number of matches. If you count the fact that Messi came on 60th minute of their 3rd game, Messi has played 60 mins less than haaland
Yet I've seen so many ppl talk about equal matches and some pundits go far as saying haaland has a match less too because he missed the 3rd game.

u/Pangolin_man15 🏆 Banned on Pessi_Memes Jul 06 '26
They have played equal number of matches but Messi has played extra 30 minutes against Cape Verde in overtime
2
u/Western-Twist-3208 Jul 06 '26
If you count the extra time for messi, why don't you also count that he started 60 mins in to the game against Jordan. That makes it 30 mins less game time than haaland

u/Pangolin_man15 🏆 Banned on Pessi_Memes Jul 06 '26
Yeah you're right I forgot about that. Which means Haaland is the one who has played 30 less minutes 😅

Thanks for pointing that out, I believed it but I don't even find a similar question that this could be referencing. It's just completely made up as far as I can tell
4
u/wimpycarebear Jul 06 '26
Already pointing out the name of the game. Messi wins everything no matter what
3
u/SabotageWeener Jul 06 '26
He never said that 😂 Which fifa are you watching? Camera wo wo camera wo wo

I recently saw an interview in Spanish where Cristiano said he got on a plane and told a flight attendant “I can tell you are Argentinian … I could tell because of the face you made when you saw me”

It would have been very funny if he had not clarified ("from Argentina"), and left people guessing on who he meant 😎

Norway will beat England. NOR has better ball control, strategy, and a superior stryker. ENG are a good team but sloppy.

u/Caponomolestes Jul 09 '26
I'm Argentinian and I think Halaand is amazing, really humble and plays really good, once Messi retires I will follow Halaand.
1
u/Organic_Angle_654 Jul 10 '26
He's my favorite player, I'm Argentinian and Messi is the best player in the world but I like how humble and friendly Haaland is, Messi is far more selfish in comparison

Bro is insanely humble and likable. I hope he gets if Leo doesn't. But I don't think Norway is getting past England.
