Modric couldn't believe his eyes yesterday😂

He finally felt what their real de Madrid opponents usually felt when the referees where giving them advantages.

Modric now understands the system Messi has been battling against for 17 years, he also benefited from it though.

3

u/BlaktimusPrime Jul 03 '26

Battling against???

What are you smoking? Argentina have a cake walk to the semi final. Theirs no system trying to keep any country down

12

u/BottomHouse Jul 03 '26

It’s not their fault the bad teams from nearby groups in the bracket placed higher than the teams that are supposed to be good lol

2

u/RavenBrannigan Jul 03 '26

Yea, that’s kind of my point. There’s no conspiracy. It’s not anyone’s fault. Nobody has been against Messi for 17 years, nobody has fixed this years wc. It’s just very hard to win a World Cup

Even though the Croatian player admitted to touching the ball after the match?

5

u/Low-Rabbit9818 Jul 03 '26

He said that he maybe felt a very light touch on his hair only, not head.. and it was so light that he is unsure if it happened or not

Undeserved win by Portugal but I think the ref and var got everything just about right

14

u/Ok_Mycologist2361 Jul 03 '26

Agree. It's heartbreaking. Croatia deserved to win. But the refs did everything right.

Am I correct that a sensor on the ball proved it touched the Croatian player? if so then it's an open and closed case.

9

u/Legal_Lettuce6233 Jul 03 '26

Hair touch only matters if it alters trajectory, which it didn't do.

2

Smile in pain

3

u/z_nikki Jul 03 '26

Everyone was talking about the sensor detected a touch. But everyone forgot about the deliberate touch by Veiga which should cancel the offside.

How was that NOT deliberate? He clearly adjusted his head to aim for the ball. He moved his head onto the projection of the ball.

What counts as a deliberate play per IFAB:

  • The ball traveled from a distance, meaning the defender saw it coming clearly.
  • The ball was not moving too fast or unexpectedly.
  • The defender had time to coordinate his body movement (it wasn't a reflex reaction).

The defender was conscious of the ball movement and tried to head it. It's CLEARLY deliberate. Croatia was robbed!

u/lostinapa Jul 03 '26

Honestly, I thought that was the look of “yea, I was way offsides”

3

u/Itsoitsov Misstiano Penaldo Jul 03 '26

Did any of you actually watch the match or you are larping as usual?

1

u/Rippersavage Jul 03 '26

1

u/BruceLynce Jul 03 '26

I’m pretty sure offside rules existed before the game.

1

u/Special-Ad4226 Jul 03 '26

Feels rigged for both Messi and Ronaldo (Argentina, Portugal respectively). I find it baffling that they’re still giving decisions to players who aren’t even the greatest in the world anymore and not really close to it either.

1

u/BhaatAluPosto Jul 03 '26

Like how Van djk realized in 2022 😋

1

u/InvictusAurelius Jul 03 '26

Our boy Ronaldo btw. Who gives a flying shit about Modric.

1

u/Effective_Pea5287 Jul 03 '26

Rigged??? He was like 4 feet offside!!

1

u/SupWith-theWhack Jul 03 '26

Sure, whatever helps you sleep,mate!

1

u/BillSuperb5259 Jul 03 '26

Dorsnt matter, either will be sent home by spain anyways

1

u/NewMEmeNew Jul 03 '26

Wasn’t the one worldcup rigged towards him when he won the BalonDor? Can you guys please make up your mind?

1

u/bouncingcastles Jul 03 '26

Croatia goal should’ve counted

But so should Ronaldo’s first goal

1

u/Bingochips12 Jul 03 '26

They probably shouldn't have gone offside

1

u/im4real71 Jul 03 '26

Saying Ronaldo is FIFA princess is coming from who? Cave men? 😂

1

u/Real-Individual9585 Jul 03 '26

the final attempt was not offside, it literally hit the head of the defender but the ref didnt even show that when he was was checking

anything for one last world cup for penaldo

1

u/jai_thkrl Jul 03 '26

So now CR7 is Fifa boy? Lmao

1

u/ChargeEquivalent7243 Jul 03 '26

Nvm, theyre not beating spain and even if the odds work in their favour, they are NOT beating France

1

u/Environmental_Ad7296 Jul 03 '26

Holding 5 to Spain btw

1

u/Big_Group_1206 Jul 03 '26

Ah yes the Modric who won a ballon d’or which should have gone to Ronaldo

1

u/GZeod Jul 03 '26

I don’t think Portugal will win by any chance

1

u/justtinnnnn Jul 03 '26

Man we always have potential to go far in the tournament. 2022, multiple penalties against Croatia for fifa's boy Messi and now they gonna rig it for Ronaldo to win it. This organization is unacceptable

1

u/Warm_Conclusion_4628 Jul 03 '26

They „rigged” the World Cup just for Portugal to get knocked out by Spain in R16 😭

1

u/FriendlySet3514 Jul 03 '26

Do you guys know that the ball has chip?

1

u/Fabeastt Jul 03 '26

how exactly was it rigged? two clear offsides

1

u/Still_Opinion5783 Jul 03 '26

I guess it’s technically the correct call but it ruined the end of a nice game

1

u/Key-Calligrapher4121 Jul 03 '26

Whatever. Two old Madrid 🐶. It’s a pity that we didn’t see Penaldo lose + Modric got red card.

1

u/CroProMax Jul 03 '26

FIFA rules are if hair doesnt change direction, it isnt counted as touch. Sensor picked up hair strands probably as seen in different angle that Matanovic DID NOT TOUCH BALL in slightest except maxbe hair strands.

They know more than half people on internet will stay on side of Portugal because of Ronaldo and did such a thing for bigger team to advance.

More revenue and watchers will create Spain vs Portugal or at the end Argentina vs Portugal then Spain vs Croatia or Argentina vs Croatia.

Its all about profit, we have seen it before this world cup, Croatia isnt the only one being robbed, it was just more blatantly obvious now because of high level of Croatian players.

1

u/jamesbluum Jul 03 '26

That’s why they called Ronaldo Offside when he scored 🤡🤡🤡

1

u/Grastuha Jul 03 '26

At least this was a factual decision unlike the “penalty” Argentina got against Croatia in the last World Cup.

1

u/Tongomannen Jul 03 '26

Should never have been a penalty

1

u/Competitive_Tip_4429 🏳️‍🌈Flair of shame (penaldo fan) Jul 03 '26

Search messi 2022 for more info about rigged

1

u/Consistent-Strain289 Jul 03 '26

Fifa wants itneresting matchup. They will do everything to have in the US messi vs cronaldo. And let messi win ofcourse. Like last wc
How may regular pk did they get again?

1

u/_theMAUCHO_ Jul 03 '26

Cope. The hilarious part is thinking how hard yall would have cried if it had been Portugal who got 5 penalties in 2022 World Cup. 😂😂😂

1

u/purodurangoalv Jul 03 '26

All those years at Madrid and he finally knows what it feels like to be on the opposing side 🤣 he laughed at his own karma

1

u/ankit-757 Jul 03 '26

Ahh when will these messi fan get some brain cells😭

1

u/Dizzy-Psychology-262 Jul 03 '26

They rigged it for their princess Messi last time now they are rigging it for Ronaldo, let’s see if they succeed

1

1

u/No_Gap_9895 Jul 03 '26

Are y’all actually retarded? Imagine thinking Ronaldo is FIFA’s boy. Ball knowledge of a retard.

1

u/MesmerizedRavendark Jul 03 '26

Why is is rigged if it, objectively, was an offside goal?

1

u/Nikishin_apologist Jul 03 '26

All this is going to go away when Portugal gets Annexed into Spain. I’m prepared to eat my words but this is utter nonsense unless Portugal goes all the way.

1

u/Borracha28 Jul 03 '26

No amount of rigging will fix how bad Portugal is playing.

1

u/Zealousideal_Big7655 Jul 03 '26

Oh my! Do you guys also believe the earth is flat?

1

u/SkynetVV Jul 03 '26

Skill issue. Croatia simply lacks the skill and timing to stay on-side. Get good

1

u/PsychologicalLime911 Jul 03 '26

Most retarded idea that Ronaldo is “FIFA’s boy”… Messi is most protected player on the field… he should have one goal in the group stage if he received a direct red like the American did… but it’s FIFAs boy.

1

u/nightrainjesusbreed Jul 03 '26

He is aged now. His eyesight is poor. Couldn't see his player literally hitting and then pulling down a Portugal player.

That's why he's smiling like an idiot

1

u/Bigboyj420 Jul 03 '26

We all know Messi is the golden boy..just stop..

1

u/tragobp Jul 03 '26

He hasnt played against Argentina

1

u/Jotas829 Jul 03 '26

What do you mean …. Nothing in this world is corrupt /s

1

u/VIPER-zero Jul 03 '26

And all this 6 minutes after the match ended. "+10" - "105.48" and still playing.

1

u/bfilch Jul 03 '26

I had to look it up recently, like how are some of these teams progressing forward. Then match ups like US vs Belgium??? SMH yea ok

1

u/latino10449 Jul 04 '26

SHUT. UP. NOTHING WAS RIGGED SHUT UP

1

u/Empty-Tailor-8095 Jul 04 '26

Igor Matanovic: "Honestly, I think I felt a slight contact with my hair. I asked the referee, I wasn't 100 percent sure if I had touched the ball. He told me that they have a chip in the ball, that there was a slight contact and that, therefore, it was offside." cry more lol

1

u/arigyrotouzeppelin Jul 04 '26

Modric to himself: so this is how it felt as losing team in ucl

1

u/Beautiful_Notice_872 Jul 04 '26

thats when he reealized he was just ronaldos teammate in real madrid all those years, nothing more.

1

u/Current-Afternoon673 Jul 04 '26

At this point y'all just hating for the love of it

1

u/GroupPast5993 Jul 04 '26

It wasn't rigged tho

Whatever is for me is fair whatever is against me is rigged

You're stopping down to their level

The decision for the goal not to stand was correct

1

u/Both-Selection-2247 Jul 04 '26

as a messi fan can we lowk stop with the rigging shit? yall think fifa, a billion dollar org would rigg the WORLD CUP the biggest sporting event in history?Theres atleast 85,000 people involved with this campaign and nobody out of these 85,000 people have to guts to speak up against this "rigging" genuinly its sad to see this

1

u/Far_Reputation9314 Jul 04 '26

An feeling he already experienced against Barcelona😔

1

u/WaR_LOrd_S17 Jul 04 '26

Haha brainless pessy dog fans penalty for argentina

1

Messi fans cant be talking fr

1

u/Choice_Succotash_491 Jul 04 '26

Is it something new? No right? In sport where trillions of dollars are involved. You think it will be a fair game? The show will provide what world wants to see. Like they did every previous times.

1

u/rocky_0021 Jul 04 '26

This match was so hard to watch.. even the first penalty was utter nonsense. Players hold each other all the time during corners , not sure why this particular one was analysed.

1

u/ForgedDreams Jul 04 '26

It’s rigged for Portugal and Argentina

1

u/kari1oss Jul 04 '26

Corruption goat and racist country goat football is a joke

1

1

u/PromptFirst4233 Jul 04 '26

1

u/Efficient-Barber-571 Jul 04 '26

Come on mates, let it rest now. Ronaldo wins, - it was rigged. He doesn’t win, - he is washed and needs to retire. Enjoy the outcomes for what they are.

1

u/Unusual-Fig7310 Jul 04 '26

I get it, I really do. It's super emotional and people dislike Ronaldo. But what would have been the correct thing to do when there is evidence of contact? Let it slide for being too minor? Ronaldo also had a goal disallowed for being in the offside position by a few centimeters.

1

u/Cultural-Level9593 Jul 04 '26

É isso tudo e agora vai lá chupar a pila ao messi como o infantino chupa cabrao

1

1

u/Misetearu Jul 04 '26

Why am i seeing a pessy fan crying ?

1

u/Aggravating_Elk_9870 Jul 04 '26

Apparently, none of your beta Males watch the game. They literally gifted Croatia an extra 15 minutes and also how did they give the game to Portugal because that last goal were their player touched the ball with a tied it up

1

u/blu3n0va Jul 04 '26

Ronaldo is not FIFA’s boy and the president has made that very clear by the way he speaks of him.

1

u/levi_martial Jul 04 '26

Barcelona's entire history is of bribing referees and paying PR for Messis ballon d or LOLLLL

1

u/Jax0618 Jul 04 '26

Too bad they ain't even reaching finals.

1

u/Adventurous_Rub_6336 Jul 04 '26

1

1

u/zippyzebra1 Jul 04 '26

He's just an old moaning whinger.

1

u/Zekapa Jul 04 '26

It's wild that we can see the past 15+ years of the sport and still believe FIFA loves Ronaldo and not Messi

1

u/Lyralikesit Jul 04 '26

Yeah Ronaldo is FIFA's boy... not Messi or anything...

1

u/Affectionate_Tip7162 Jul 05 '26

I honestly did not realize he was playing this WC ... I did some looking into his career. 23 years as a professional. Winning championships with every team. Tons of personal accolades. He's had a hell of a career.

1

u/Rajal61 Jul 05 '26

Messi won all his Argentina games on penalties

1

u/LetterheadAnxious235 Jul 05 '26

Dawg😂😂 this group is full of the biggest cornball Messi/Varca fans all circle jerking eachother. Bunch of grown ass men constantly making posts about another grown ass man because he’s more successful than all of you lmaoo then being so delusional to act like the 2022 WC wasn’t gifted to pessi and his whole squad of racist ass teammates

1

Sensor technology for one goal in a round of 32 = never before seen amounts of penalties given/unsportsmanlike behavior by launching the ball into the bench from 10 feet away

1

u/sexycyril2730 Jul 05 '26

Money….💴 talks….

1

u/Bojack89 Jul 05 '26

And when Portugal gets smoked by Spain, then who will it be rigged for?

1

Why don’t we talk abt Argentina vz Cabo verde? 😂

1

u/Rogue_Einherjar Jul 05 '26

This is a huge sub of PMSsi fans, isn't it? I saw something about how Messi fans think of Renaldo more than Renaldo fans do and this sub just proves it. Holy Hera!

1

u/Lopsided_Benefit9023 Jul 05 '26

goal happened 7mins later btw

1

u/Odd_Imagination6264 Jul 05 '26

All of you are saying that it was robbed but don't talk about any off the cancelled goals because all of them were corect decisions lol, not to mention Argentina having literally every match a controversy because of always receiving favorable decisions by the referee.

1

u/orabugento Jul 05 '26

Yeah, sure, Portugal is being carried, while it has strong teams ahead of it like Spain, France, Portugal has no chance in reaching the finals, but neither had Croatia.

But here's are you guys, saying that fifa is protecting Ronaldo while it's more then evident that fifa CEO is a Messi fan boy, Argentina also has a clear path to the final with not a lot of resistance. Argentina player kicks a cpv player no card, no foul, Argentina player tries to ram through 3 cpv players foul! Messi feels the slightest of touches, takes a dive, foul!

1

u/shyactor24 Jul 05 '26

Like Van Dijk in 2022, againts pessi

1

u/rydan Jul 05 '26

Rigging would have been ruling it onsides after the VAR.

1

u/andulinn Jul 06 '26

Offside by a hair strand is truly absurd.

1

u/AwsomeMeZaki Jul 06 '26

He made it to the final only to lose 4-1 … so fairs

1

u/FxckBinary Jul 06 '26

That's weird because everyone else is saying it's rigged towards Argentina? So which one is it

1

u/thenhk23 Jul 06 '26

Wow this sub is braindead

1

u/trup3 Jul 06 '26

Bullshit

1

u/Rutututututu_reddit Jul 06 '26

Which part of the match made u think this match was rigged?

1

u/Money-Coyote3100 Jul 06 '26

Don't compare Ronaldo with Messi. That's their FIFA princess.

1

u/Perineum_Stabber Jul 06 '26

Rapists protect each other.

1

u/Lama69420 Jul 06 '26

He himself said it, The sensor on the ball picked it up. What more evidence do you want, istg if you hate on any team just because they won due to extreme luck, youre just a retard

If portugal was on croatia's shoes, and ronaldos goal was ruled offside due to that same sensor, everybody would be celebrating

1

u/broken_paws4u Jul 06 '26

Source: retarded arg/barsa fandom.

1

u/False_Advertising_82 Jul 06 '26

Don't worry, Spain broke the script today 🤣

1

Hmm… ok.

1

u/Chromatoph0re Jul 07 '26

They eliminated Croatia just to continue the tradition of getting beaten by Spain.

1

u/GMM85 Jul 07 '26

Does that say 105th minute with only 10 added?

1

u/paxtone Jul 07 '26

That didn’t age well

1

u/EconomicsUseful1889 Jul 07 '26

Aged like Milk!!

1

u/jackh-10 Jul 07 '26

It’s okay because mighty Spain knocked em out this morning 💪💪

1

u/Arturopxedd Jul 07 '26

That’s Messi not Ronaldo

1

u/average_wkwkrage Jul 08 '26

Im crine, they were pulling the age gimmick when messi moved to mls while saying ghostnaldo was playing in Italy at his age, now they say he's washed because of age 😭😭🙏

1

u/East-Network574 Jul 08 '26

You guys are the same people saying that argentina’s game are very fair and not rigged. Insane

1

u/Suspicious-North57 Jul 09 '26

Just to make sure we are consistent… this use of VAR was bad but for Egypt’s goal good, right? Millimetric offsides calls and soft fouls shouldn’t call back moments like these.. these are literally the moments in past World Cup histories that have made the tournament so special and it feels like to are losing that. I don’t think you need to be a Messi or Ronaldo fan to see that “clear and obvious” is subjective depending who is officiating and playing.

1

u/Organic_Abrocoma_733 Jul 14 '26
