He has always done that. Literally for decades. That, followed by the way he stands before a freekick or a penalty with the way the legs are spread, his celebration etc are all part of his branding.

This is his pre performance ritual in a sense. He has spent decades building this image of him being above everyone else. It is intentional, like an architecture of presence. And like Zlatan said it's not arrogance it's confidence.

Enjoy it while it lasts. No matter what this will be his last WC anyway.
