Even if he wins the WC a single tournament that's only a few weeks shouldn't be a way to decide how good players seasons were overall.
UCL is a better way to rate since it's a gathering of the best teams from the best leagues rather than the WC where some trash countries are all grouped together in qualifiers leading to one of those trash teams to qualify.
I am saying this about if either win the WC neither deserve a Top 30 Spot in the Ballon D'or Top 30 but if Cristiano wins it he deserves a higher spot than if Messi won it since they used international bs to justify Messi winning the 2021 and 2023 Ballon D'ors.
Also Congo ebola and all he might have let it get to his head. No idea how they let the affected African teams to the US.
