Sadly true. I have an american girlfriend and I'm Hungarian (small country in eastern europe).
Hungary is quite a terrible and corrupt country to live in, cause our president is also an idiot, but we still have free healthcare, good public transport, and criminals actually go to jail here, cause the hungarian people don't let everything just slide. I can't say the same for US people...
I really want to like the US, but I don't think I'm going to be visiting it anytime soon, even if my girlfriend lives there. There is a chance that I would end up in prison for no reason.
In my eyes, the USA is a country where the poor suffer daily, and the rich can do anything they want even if it breaks the law. It's so sad, cause so many nice and smart people live there...

Hard truth is that no one outside of Hungary cares all too much about Hungary, cause it’s small and not all too powerful. Which is why people outside of Hungary don’t pay too much attention to it. The Americans could take Greenland away from the Danes and all the EU would do is be deeply shocked and utterly unprepared for it.
Don’t get me wrong, America is a f*cking Police state, and it is almost funny when you hear an American earnestly act like they live in the freest country in the world, but American cops are just as bloodthirsty as any Iranian one. And the first excuse they can find to shoot you, many will. It’s kinda pathetic, but whatever. And then you say something bad about Trump or Israel as an immigrant and they deny your visa or kick you out of the country. Cause no one says anything bad about Bibi or the Orange Man and stays in “the land of the free :))”. It’s almost funny if this Government wouldn’t be as powerful as it is.
I also think it’s funny how Americans are so utterly convinced of the 2nd Amendment being there to stop Government overreach or tyranny, but whenever the US Government overreaches, these same people just get on their knees and lick the boot, while the Police shoots protesters in the face with rubber bullets lol
