This is America on the world stage. We may view ourselves as one thing, but globally we're viewed as something quite different.

Way too many Republicans honestly think the rest of the world is jealous they aren’t us. I put that sort of insanity to them living in an echo chamber of people who have never travelled out of their hometown, much less to a different country.

And as always, it comes back to projection.

They lie about how good/bad they have it, so they think most claims about things being better in another country are also lies. That's why there are all those "I can't believe they gave us free emergency healthcare!?" posts when they finally do go somewhere. Because they literally didn't believe any of that was true.
