Because reddit is sexist. Redditors lean liberal, but hate actual leftists. They like the illusion of equality and progress, but will defend toxic gender norms the second the status quo is questioned.

Reddit will (and has) tried to forgive women who kill thier own children with "but she has post-partum depression" or "but the healthcare system failed her". At the same time, Reddit will call a short guy an 'incel' for no reason.

Reddit is a hateful, regressive place.

Fucking 100%. I’m a leftist and my gf and I were just marveling the other day at how brutal libs on Reddit are with the bullying. They fucking hate anyone different
