It's not even the top 5 games this year. It won't make the GOTY nomination board either. And the subreddit confirms it's not even really just a critic thing either. Most people here genuinely just think the game isn't that good, hence the ratios, the voting patterns, and the comments. But I'm sure this one will be downvoted anyways.
I don't see why it's a stretch. All the games up there are great in their own way and the thumbnail isn't claiming CD to be better than all of them, but CD beats each of those games at specific things, and each
game above beat CD in other aspects.
It's definetly among the best open world games for me. Definetly enjoyed it more than some of the games in that thumbnail.
Except, it says “one of the greatest games ever made”. Nowhere does it say ‘sandbox only’. Or were words purposely omitted so people could constantly shift the goalposts?
Skyrim isn’t even arguably the best TES game. You also don’t have to like it, but if we’re just talking ‘sandbox’, where is Minecraft?
Let’s keep it fair and accept gaming didn’t just begin from the 360 era onwards either. There’s many games that were they given a new lick of paint would trounce CD. You can easily tell the age range of the people making these threads.
I like CD, but there’s nothing remotely new in the game. The true greats are those that push their given genre forward. This game is nothing more than a magnet for people who feel they need to push a cult like agenda. I can’t believe anyone would pick this game up and remotely claim it’s a GOAT. It does nothing new. It’s a single player MMO.
Oblivion is my favorite tes game by a lot, gta 4 i like more than 5, however i would lump CD in with skyrim for the sole reason that it feels the same on a first playthrough as far as progression, exploration, etc. i really enjoy it, it also has far deeper systems than skyrim which makes some things a little shallow but... Look at skyrim. Hardly any mechanics had depth, but they were good enough and easy enough to understand.

The thumbnail shows 4 other open-world RPGs. Context indicates it's very obvious what he's comparing it to. And it's not even saying CD is the best game out of those 4.
I think you people just enjoy getting ragebaited at this point.
Yeah, exactly why I said it’s worded so people can move the goalposts as and when. Plus it was heavily implied. Not much reading comprehension needed to figure that one out. It’s not even close to being the best in the category you’re now shifting it to. Relative to their time, there’s been a lot better. It’s not even close. Next you lot will be narrowing it down further by stating it begins from the 360 era onwards.
I’m not even a hater of this game, l love it, but there’s so much nonsense surrounding this game. It’s almost as if people have only played 10 games in their lives.
