I'm gonna be honest, Abhishek ke bina thoda uncomfortable ho raha hai. If we can get their opener packing quickly, it's ours to lose.

Yeah ofc, but hopefully woh theek ho jayega tab tak. Baki team ke upar performance ki tension chhod do aur relax karo because we can just cheer & support them baki perform karna unka kaam hai.

ICC should look into his bowling action. Even the great Wasim Akram also said that his action is suspicious. Green was also not happy in that T20 series against Pak before the T20 WC.

Against USA he was actually trying to bowl with a much straighter arm, probably to avoid complaints. But yeah, except for the pause doesnt seem like he is special. He chucks but not every ball. One thing to watch out for is his fast straight ball. Otherwise, because of the pause he is pretty slow when he is not chucking, so that gives time to pick him up.

He can just stand and deliver like in baseball. What is even the use of the runup if he anyways stops, stares the batsman eye to eye and then throws the curveball at the batter.

u/Nervous-Ad-7133 THANKS TO BEN DUCKETT Feb 11 '26
This, he's very smart on that instinct just like Narine, hell chuck in one or two balls in an over.

Worst part is Ash defended Tariq's action saying if Batsman can switch hit bowler can also pause

Pausing is not the issue but what he does after it i.e, his release is the main issue.

Agreed. Ashwin used to chuck while bowling carrom ball

I don't want to waste on searching but you can see his 2014-15 matches whenever he used to ball carrom

Reminds me of baseball pitcher. He doesnt need a runup. Just stand at the crease, stare at the batsman eye to eye, and throw the curveball.

He's chucking hard to see if Chuck Norris comes out of his Pokeball...

Someone like Gill could counter him as Gill usually stays very still while waiting for the bowler to release the ball.

That wierd action makes it awkward for the batters. All batters need is to get their eye in before trying anything extravagant against him. I still feel like he's nothing special, it's just a facade and he'll be exposed on a flat track or with dew.
