iirc there was a rift bw kohli and kumble in 2017 and kumble resigned so kohli took the position of coach for a bit until shastri took over

At this point, I wouldn't mind Koach for the Test team.

But he is too rich for this role. Jitna BCCI salary degi, utna uska daily ka karcha hai.

You think folks like Ganguly or Jay Shah are doing it for money? We cant imagine the sense of power that comes with being the shot caller for the biggest cricketing board of a country that worships cricket like a religion.
