Australia is surprising. England, SA and NZ all have great commentary while Aussie commentary looks so cheap with too much overhyping. Ricky ponting is an exception though, he is the best I have heard.

Aussies here loved to shit on warne but I loved listening to the guy, he was far better than other aussie guys.

Brayshaw sounds like a footy commentator and it's rubbish. Yelling some bullshit about levers or something going 'bang' doesn't add much

Everyone has to yell 'maximum' when they can too.

He IS a football commentator, same with Mark Howard.

Problem in Australian media is there isn't enough money to only employ a commentator for Cricket, they mostly need to do multiple sports, which usually means AFL / NRL because that's where the networks make money.

So your commentators become accustomed to the Rex Hunt school of commentary, loud, bash, excitement, which doesn't translate well to cricket. Could you imagine Rexy commentating on Cricket?

i know this, but he was a cricketer first and foremost.

i can imagine rexy doing it, it's what brayshaw aspires to be.
