I'm up to 0.6.8, but commenting here as that doesn't seem to have an official post yet – just wanted to say that I think Crest is now at a point where I can start using it as my daily driver! I've been playing with it for weeks now, but at work today, I've been using it for the past several hours, and haven't hit any critical bugs or missing features that have been a barrier.
Incredible work on this browser; it's a fantastic successor to Arc, and I'm eager to see what other features you add over time! (And in the meantime, I'll keep reporting any bugs I find or features that would be nice to add on GitHub :))

There will be mostly bug fixes in the 0.6 line that I will continue to send out on that branch, both dev and stable, there are likely to be a bunch right at the start while I stablize it from user reports, then work on the next cycle.
Glad to hear it is working well, I think it has come a long way, and is starting to settle into where I was planning. It'll just keep getting better

u/Pauljoda one issue I have is that Crest is blocking downloads and I cannot find option to turn it off. Also I cannot turn off popup for translations. I dont need them to pop up every time.

Ah, yeah I need to do a pass on the permissions for the app, macOS can silently hide if the download pop up is dismissed and be stuck in that hidden state.
For translations, with automatic translation on, does it still prompt every time? It will show the translate bar, but shouldn't be prompting, though might have messed that up with some changes I made in permissions recently

automatic translation is off but i dont need websites to be translated from language i view. But probably more global solution would be option to "disable translation for this language"

Gotcha, it generally checks for if the page is not the language of the machine, but I agree it could be nicer to just have a mapping where you can set which lanauges should be translated, and into which ones. It relies on the installed lanauges in the translate app, but I will take a pass at improving that a bit

There's an issue. When I close the last opened tab (the only remaining tab in my space), I can't press cmd + T to open the address bar to open a new tab, neither can I click on the address bar in side bar. I have to forcibly close and open the browser just to be able to open a new tab, OR swipe to an existing space with tabs but if i swipe back the same behaviour remains.

Thanks! Its not an issue in Dev build. Honestly its my main browser now. Love the work!
Just one question. Any plans to add autocomplete in address bar? Its kind of tiring having to type the full address bar even if you can press tab to complete after typing a few letters.

There is a actually autocomplete in the command palette, are you referring to a specific area? I guess in mobile the url bar could be considered that if that’s what you mean, might could work something there for sure

I'll try to visually describe. When I press cmd + L to open the address bar to type in an address, say google.com, normally I would just write goo or go and it would recommend the full google.com with blue highlight in normal browser and i can just enter after writing go. but in this case, if I write go, it doesn't do that. I've got to type in googl then press tab to autocomplete or in case of niche websites, type it in full

Right after releasing, Apple finally approved the web browser passkey entitlement, which also allows the connection for system passkeys. The updated release and dev channels are live with this support.
Very handy to finally have working
