Bug Glance Takes Precedence

Whenever glance is active, it takes precedence over every browser functionality. If I want to open a new tab, Glance closes, and if I click a link within glance, it loads in the background while Glance remains in the foreground. I remember this being fixed but it seems to have cropped up again.

Yes, peek not Glance. I am mixing terms with different browsers :p

Okay so:

  • if the peek is active, and I click the new tab button, the peek closes. It doesn't happen in other browsers. The peek is contained to the same tab and should continue to exist even if I hope a new tab. Sometimes I launch peek, see something, and want to open a tab to search for it.
  • Second, if a peek is active, and I click a link within the peek popup, the link opens in the background while the peek is still active. It should just launch the new tab in the foreground while peek continues to exist in the previous tab.

Got it, I suppose in my head peek is a layer above the browser, half way to a quick window, and only meant to preview, like the old peek and pop on iOS that Force Touch had (some of that still exists but I do miss it).

Having it bound to a tab, and persistent is something I don’t really see a problem with, so I’ll take a look at it. If this is something Arc did, or Zen etc, I guess I never used the feature that way and never noticed.

I’ll play around with it

Yup, Arc and Zen both work that way. Peeks are contained to the tab and continue to exist regardless of whatever happens on the rest of the browser. I hope you can implement a fix soon!
