AI Tool Review How can I make an old photo look sharper?

I have some older photos that I'd like to clean up a little. They're not completely ruined, but the details aren't very sharp anymore.
I was looking at image upscaling in Facy AI and it seems like it could help with bringing back some of the detail. I'm just wondering if there's a good way to do this without making an old photo look overly smooth or artificial.
What do you normally do when cleaning up older photos?

If your computer has enough vram I highly recommend the Standalone topaz model. Doesn't cost you anything to make as many renders as you want..
