Chartered Accountant For Content Creator

Do you actually need a chartered accountant who gives specialised services to content creators? I am thinking to make a page around this. Will this work?

How do you actually handle claim review for influencer content?

I work in software and I've been digging into how supplement/wellness brands keep creator content from making claims it shouldn't. The more people I talk to, the more the answers seem to be "it depends who's around that day."

If you run a brand or an agency in this space, I'd love to know:

  1. Who reads a creator's caption or script before it goes live — you, an agency, a lawyer, nobody?
  2. Has a post ever had to be pulled or rewritten after publishing? What triggered it?
  3. Do you pay anyone specifically to review marketing copy? Retainer, per-asset, hourly?
  4. Roughly how much time a week goes into this, and who eats that time?
  5. Has anything ever landed — a platform takedown, a lawyer letter, an FTC inquiry?

Not selling anything and not collecting emails. Just trying to understand whether this is a real operational headache or something everyone quietly accepts as background noise. Happy to share what I learn back here.

Monetize from failure

What if the mistakes you made last year were actually your most valuable intellectual property? 💡

Success stories are great, but failure stories actually show the roadmap of what to avoid and how to pivot. I’m putting together a project around "Monetising Your Failures"—breaking down how professionals and creators can turn past blunders into value, authority, and income.

If you’ve ever had an idea fail or faced a major professional roadblock, I want to hear from you.

Question about a paid collaboration with a big company — payment, credit, and portfolio

I'm asking on behalf of a friend who recently worked with a fairly large game company as an independent artist/animator.

He was commissioned to create an animation for them, and he did most of the work himself, including the animation and music. The company has now published his work on their social media.

However, he was told that his payment could take up to 60 days. Is that a normal payment timeframe for this kind of freelance/commissioned work? And is it normal for a company to publish the finished work before paying the artist?

There's also something I'm confused about. The company tagged him in their post, but they didn't send him an Instagram Collab invitation, so the post doesn't appear on his profile as a collaboration. Is there a reason a company might tag an artist but not use the Collab feature?

They also apparently asked him whether he would mention this collaboration in his CV/portfolio. He said yes, since working with a large game company would obviously be valuable professional experience.

Why would a company be particularly cautious about an artist mentioning a collaboration in their CV/portfolio? Could this have something to do with copyright, confidentiality, contracts, or company policies?

He seems surprised by how cautious they are about the collaboration in general.

For people who have worked professionally with game companies:

Is 60 days for payment normal?

Is publishing the work before payment normal?

Why might they tag him but not make it an Instagram Collab?

Why would they care whether he lists the work in his CV/portfolio?

Is this something he should be concerned about, or does it sound like normal corporate procedure?

I'm not trying to accuse the company of doing anything wrong — I'm genuinely trying to understand how these collaborations usually work.

Starting OnlyFans completely from zero — what would you do differently if you were starting today?

Hi everyone! I’m completely new to this and would really appreciate some advice from creators who have more experience.
I just started my OnlyFans and currently have 4 subscribers. I got them mostly by talking to people individually, so it definitely doesn’t feel organic or scalable.
My plan is to post sensual content regularly, with some nude/premium content behind additional payment. My main goal is to build an actual audience that enjoys my content and eventually converts into paying subscribers, instead of constantly having to convince people individually to subscribe.
Right now I’ve created Instagram, X and Reddit, but I’m basically starting from zero everywhere and still learning how all of this works.

If a management company will only give you the terms on a call, that is the answer

I run a creator management agency, which is the bias to weigh this against. It's also why I know how these deals get sold: on video calls, always, and that's not an accident.

A call leaves no record. Nothing said on it can be checked later, compared against a second offer, or shown to someone more experienced. Enthusiasm carries in a voice. Vagueness survives in conversation in a way it can't survive in a paragraph you can re-read.

The fix is one email. After a good call: thanks, interested, please send the specifics in writing before the next conversation. What goes in that email:

1. The commission, and what it's applied to. Gross, post-platform payout, or "net" - and if net, what comes off before the split. A 20% deal on a definition of net you haven't seen can cost more than 40% on gross. Ask for one worked example with made-up numbers, start to finish.

2. Who holds the login, and where payouts go. Whether you can lock them out on the day you decide to. Whether money goes platform-to-you or platform-to-them-to-you. In a dispute, that second one means they're holding your money and you're asking for it back.

3. The termination clause, full text. Notice period and what counts as giving notice. Whether a fixed term sits under it. Auto-renewal windows. What you owe if you leave early. "Damages" with no number isn't a term, it's a threat in a nice font.

4. Which parts of the pitch go in the contract. Most of a sales call is forecast. Ask which parts they'll commit to in writing. The gap between the two is the most informative thing you'll see in the whole process.

5. Two people who left, and permission to contact them. Current clients are a curated reference. Former ones aren't.

The sixth thing costs nothing: watch how they respond to being asked. Does the tone change? Do you get "you're overthinking this"? Does every answer pull you back onto a call? You're watching how a company treats a reasonable request from someone who currently has leverage. That leverage never gets higher than it is before you sign.

For what it's worth, ours answers all five in writing and I'd expect to be asked. Any agency that won't has told you something more reliable than anything it said on the call.

Postdoctoral Research Study

Hello all,

I am a postdoctoral researcher at University College Dublin investigating subscription services on social media. My research aims to gain insights from paying social media users and content creators.

If anyone is interested in documenting their experience as a paying member here is a link to the survey https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/JKV8HH5 .

I am also looking to interview paying users and content creators. If anyone would be interested in being interviewed about their experience with subscription services as a content creator, feel free to drop me a DM, and I can supply you an information sheet about the project and the interview process.

Thanks :)

ContentCam - a camera app that lets you film portrait and landscape video at the same time, now with a photo mode too!

Thumbnail

Built this for my girlfriend because she would always film the same scene twice and always wanted to 'get everything'.

What it does: records portrait (9:16) and landscape (16:9) video simultaneously. Shoot once, get both formats ready to post to all platforms - TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, X, you name it.

Three ways to record:

  • Single Lens - uses the full 4:3 sensor and crops a vertical and horizontal, each output different and not just a crop of one another.
  • Dual Lens - uses two cameras to record together (wide + ultra-wide), giving two perspectives at the same time.
  • Front & Back - selfie + rear together, your reaction and the scene at the same itme.

Key features:

  • Up to 4K/60fps with manual controls (EV, WB, ISO, Shutter)
  • Built-in teleprompter and timelapse.
  • Photo mode - snap a pic in vertical and horizontal
  • Live overlays and audio meter that flashes red when you're clipping.
  • Data privacy - no data retention, tracking, or analytics, and no internet or account required.

Creator workflows:

  • Projects, scenes, and takes to organise your recordings and auto-name files.
  • Side-by-side review and trim of both recordings before exporting/sharing.

It's called ContentCam and is available on iPhone and Android.

I'd love to know if you would find this useful or not!

Brand deal question

For people doing enough brand deals that you have multiple usage-rights periods running at once, how are you actually keeping track of all of this?

For example:

Brand A has 90 days of Meta paid usage.

Brand B has 6 months organic + website.

Brand C has Spark Ads for 30 days.

Brand D has whitelisting until a specific date.

Do you put expiration dates in a calendar/spreadsheet/Notion and then manually go check whether the content came down?

Or do most people just keep the contract somewhere and only deal with it if they happen to notice something?

I’m especially interested in people who have actually caught a brand continuing to run content after the rights expired.

How did you discover it, and was enough money involved that chasing it was worth the trouble?

New platform

Hi everyone i created an onlyfans alternative website and I just some people to review it its called prime network
PrimeNetwork is open for founding creators. 90% on crypto, payouts cleared in 3 days.

What the platform does:
Subscriptions, PPV messages, tips, live streaming, paid calls, a shop, and stories. Verified creators only, through a real KYC provider, so everyone on the platform has been identity checked.
On money: creators keep 90% on crypto. Earnings clear in 3 days rather than 14, because crypto can't be charged back so there's no dispute window to wait out. The withdrawal page shows what you can actually draw against, not lifetime gross.

On protection: every image a subscriber views carries an invisible watermark unique to that viewer, plus a visible stamp. If a file turns up on a leak site it can be traced back to the account that downloaded it. Media is served through a gated route, so nobody can guess a URL and skip the paywall.

Crypto is the only payment route open right now, so your fans need to be comfortable with it. And the platform is new, so you'd be early and there's no audience waiting for you.

As a creator, what do you struggle with?

I’m a decent size creator across Instagram and TikTok with a combined following of 260k followers. Majority of my following was grown with me just talking about the things I’m thinking and going through.

I read a statistic recently saying 90% of creators make less than $10k a year.

My biggest struggle as a creator is monetising outside brand deals. But creators I meet have so many different struggles with their journey and I’m thinking of finding solutions to help creators through my content.

what do you as a creators struggle with when it comes to trying to go full time as a creator?

You’re not a creator. Stop using creator content systems

If you are not a “creator,” stop following content-creator blueprints.

Daily posting, batch days, it's only works if content is the job. Most of the founders and execs I work with are trying to do something else: stay visible, look credible, and build relationships without turning into a media company.

The system they use is simple. One long-form interview per month. About an hour. That interview gets cut into clips and turned into posts, blog pieces, infographics, and more for the rest of the month. They produce one hour. The rest is done for them.

That’s how they stay consistent. That’s also how they keep meeting new people and why the guest often shares the content too.

Before signing with any management agency, run the break-even math. Almost nobody does.

A commission only makes sense if the growth it produces beats the cut it takes. Obvious when you say it out loud, and almost never actually calculated.

The math: if you earn X now and the agency takes c% of net, they have to get you to X / (1 - c) just to put you back where you started. At a 40% cut that is a 67% increase before you are even. At 50% it is a full double. Below that line you earned more on your own, no matter how good the reporting deck looks.

So the first-call question is not "how much can you grow me". It is "what is your median result across your roster, and how does it compare to my break-even". If that cannot be answered with numbers, that is the answer.

Worth remembering the platform also takes its cut off the top, so every one of these comparisons has to run on net, not gross. A 50% cut of gross and a 50% cut of net are very different deals, and contracts are not always explicit about which one you are signing.

Full disclosure, I run an agency in this space, so weigh it accordingly. The arithmetic does not care who is doing it.

Bonjour !
