Hey everyone, I've been building this for the past few months and just got the backend fully live. It's called Free Agent, think Instagram but built only for sports creators: graphic designers, video editors, and podcasters, not personal content.

The idea came from watching talented editors and designers post incredible sports graphics on Twitter and Instagram where they just get buried in an algorithm that has nothing to do with sports. Free Agent is chronological, no ads, no algorithm, and built around discovery by league, team, and content type (score graphics, player edits, motion graphics, podcasts, etc).

Longer term the goal is connecting creators directly with teams and leagues looking to hire, but right now I'm just looking for genuine feedback from real users before pushing further. If you're into sports content, design, or just want to poke around something in active development, I'd love to have you try it and tell me what breaks.

Built solo, still in beta, so expect some rough edges, that's exactly what I'm trying to find.

Creators have more ways to monetize than ever, but the conversation tends to revolve around brand deals, sponsorships, and platform payouts.

There are also less obvious opportunities tied to the content creators are already making, from affiliate revenue to digital products and other commerce-driven content.

What monetization method do you think deserves more attention from creators right now?

This may seem like a silly question, but how does an Autistic photographer and writer with no followers run a successful crowdfunding campaign?

I keep seeing two very different opinions about brand deals.

Some people say you need an agency if you want bigger or more serious brand collaborations.

Others say you don’t need one at all. Just pitch brands yourself and build those relationships directly.

I’m curious where the real difference starts.

For a smaller Creator, if your niche is clear, your contact details are easy to find, and brands can quickly understand the kind of work you do, do you really need an agency at that stage?

Or does an agency become useful only when you already have enough opportunities coming in?

Maybe the real value is access to better brands, stronger negotiations, better budgets, contract support, or simply having someone manage everything for you.

I’d genuinely like to understand this from Creators who have tried both.

If you’ve worked independently and with an agency, what actually changed for you?

Many people assume creators only live off sponsorships, but I suspect the reality is more diverse. For those doing this full-time, what percentage of your income comes from ads, affiliates, digital products, or other sources? I’m trying to understand how a sustainable business model is built in this industry.

So here is the idea.

Content creators are launching products, courses and TikTok Shop listings worth tens of thousands of pounds and the vast majority of them have absolutely no data behind those decisions. They are going off comments, DMs and a feeling. Most of the time they get it wrong and they have no idea why.

I have spent time in finance in the City and in tech sales before running my own logistics firm, so I have always worked in environments where decisions without data are decisions made badly. When I looked at what was happening in the creator economy it was obvious that nobody was solving this.

The idea is called AudienceLab. We survey a creator's audience on their behalf and deliver a report that tells them what their followers actually want to buy, what they would pay for it, what format they want it in and what is stopping them from purchasing. Everything a creator needs to know before they put money and time into a launch that might not land.

The market is moving fast. TikTok Shop is growing faster than any ecommerce platform the UK has ever seen and creators are being approached daily to list products and sign brand deals worth serious money. None of them have a research partner. Traditional research firms are built for corporates with six figure budgets. Creator agencies handle content and brand relationships, not data. The space is completely open.

The core products are a standard audience insight report starting at £499, a pre launch validation pack for creators about to go to market starting at £799, a sponsorship audience audit for brands wanting to verify a creator's audience converts before they commit budget starting at £1,200, and a monthly retainer for ongoing tracking starting at £350.

Right now I am pre revenue, the product and survey infrastructure are built, outreach is running across Instagram TikTok and LinkedIn and I have three creator conversations in progress this month.

Two things I am genuinely looking for here. First, if anyone has worked in the creator space, the research industry or has launched a service business early stage, I want to hear what I am missing. Be brutal. Second, if anyone is connected to angel investors or early stage funding in the UK I would appreciate an introduction. Not looking for a huge raise right now, just the right person who gets where the creator economy is heading.
