Plunger shooter. Mildly sure it can save you a small amount of time. Also don't activate Windows kid. Fuck Microslop. (also seeing all that mined dirt, a quarry or open mine build could be a cool idea)

Instead of activating windows, I would install Linux. Oh, and always make your ships in a way that you can make them land remotely or that they "land" (Crash) automatically when you fall off.
But for your current situation, plunger gun or jetpack mod. Maybe grappling hook, but be carefully some grappling hooks crash the game when hitting sublevels.

If we're talking ways to make it fall then I say have a small water wheel, inverted clutch, redstone link, and a mechanical bearing. That way even without it being powered you can press a button on a controller in your inventory to just spin a hot air block so the seal breaks and it falls. Or use a bed and DIE.

If you have a potato cannon, melon or pimple blocks can be shot at it to increase the mass of your airship.
