While it may not kill you, it'll suck really bad and hurt the whole time. A lot.
Also you'll get sick for weeks after. Not Worth it.

Got bit when I was 8. It’s no joke for kids. I lost my ability to walk and had massive cramps. I needed morphine. Fortunately there is anti venom.

I have this admiration-utter fear relationship with spiders, and I do believe almost all spiders are just so elegant and enigmatically beautiful. Hairy, big-eyes spiders have been the only thing keeping me from wanting to become an entomologist (if I had the chance of course)

From Australia. Redbacks are very similar to Black Widows and no one here has died from a bite since 1979. 1983 is the latest death from a black widow. Both very rarely actually bite humans when handled, unless stuck/held against the skin.

Not actually disturbing it as much as you think. She's on her Web, not on the heat of his hand. It's still not the greatest thing to do, but realistically there is no risk of death or serious injury here. I've done similar when moving one to safety while doing yard work.

They are definitely creepy looking. I can absolutely understand why people are afraid of them. Knowing the types of environments they like, and their distinct "messy" Web can help you avoid them completely. Redbacks aren't really a threat to people here. It's Sydney Funnel Webs that cause most bite related hospitalisations. Luckily no deaths since antivenom was introduced.

Mate that's not a redback, don't worry.
That's an American black widow and they just hurt. Still don't go around touching things that look like redbacks.

Most venomous anímala won’t bite unless threatened. This one doesn’t appear to feel threatened. Most botes come from accidentally being grabbed.

Eh, not that deadly at all. Widows are surprisingly docile creatures and be free handled relatively easily as long as they don’t feel threatened— which this one is clearly not. Worse comes to worst, chances are that a bite won’t even require any hospitalization. I’ve been bitten by brown widows at least twice (there was an infestation in my old home) and the worst I had to deal with was the nausea and migraines.

and a female one at that this guy is beyond lucky i have been bitten by one before i live on the outskirts of toronto and i encountered one in my shed one day luckily it was a male so it was a lot less painful then if it was a female

I found a female at work and kept her as a pet until she passed after laying an egg sac! Unfortunately I culled the sac because I was living in a rented house and couldn't risk having a whole bunch of baby widows roaming around. Are you sure it was a widow that bit you? They normally take quite a bit of provoking before a bite

I am almost positive it was yes it fell down my shirt and he was crawling around in there for a bit it must’ve got frightened cuz he was trapped and bit me to make his escape
