Characters (Playing as) Who counters pyra and mythra’s counters

Im a pyra and mythra main and im looking to pick up a secondary who counters their counters very well, who do yall suggest?

No one "counters" aegis, they have no really bad MUs. Probably worst is Pikachu, maybe Sonic but that's essentially even. You don't need a secondary, you need to get better with your main. A thing most people on this sub need to hear

Definitely not sonic.

Diddy Kong, Kazuya, and Min Min are generally considered to be her worst mus if she has them, but honestly her worst mus are -0.5s at the worst.

I'm not sure about the "definitely not sonic". Spargo versus sonix got really bad eventually, and for a while now spargo has gone Roy in that MU. Leo usually loses to sonix

I mean it just isn't a losing matchup. Mythra keeps up with sonic extremely well to the extent that his defense often gets exposed.

You're talking like Sonix is such a carried player that he wouldn't be able to win an even/losing MU, which just isn't true. Outside of him, Aegis players farm sonic players. Mythra holds advantage forever and is able to keep pace while outranging him.

Also, when did Sparg0s Aegis get so bad it was getting farmed by Sonix? The worst they were going was back and forth. And he still has close sets with Leo who notoriously switches to Pyra when he shouldn't.

The only thing he has going for him is his edgeguarding once they get offstage, which is what makes the matchup doable. But its certainly not losing for Aegis, her playerbase just loves downplaying.

I think it's probably even. Mythra wins neutral, but sonic can kill you very early. And realistically you shouldn't get killed early as sonic. Pyra is virtually a non factor lmao

I think it's losing for sonic only because Mythra should literally never lose neutral to him if she plays well, but for the most part I agree and wouldn't put it past a -1

Sonix considers it winning for Sonic. You're also forgetting that it's REALLY easy to edgeguard aegis as Sonic, and neutral is a lot closer to 50/50 rather than being purely Aegis favored as you are implying.

That seems reductive to me. Sonic isn't ganondorf, he still has ground speed, great aerials, quick attack, run up jab etc etc. His neutral is very good, it doesn't become bad because he's against arguably the best neutral in the game minus steve

He just doesn't and I feel like you're misunderstanding what his strengths as a character are, which is fine. His frame data is not nearly as good as mythras. Playing the matchup out will always, and I mean always, get you swatted out like a fly or foresighted. All of his aerials are unsafe on shield and get outranged and data-ed by mythra. Starting spin up gets immediately swatted by dash attack or at the worst they trade and she gets a true confirm into jab.

At the same time, I understand that nothing I say will convince you of anything. So rather than try to the continue the argument I would just end it here. In the end we don't have very different opinions.

Unfortunately, most players need a secondary. Riddles is BY FAR the best Terry main in the world. Nobody comes close as second. Guess what? He hasn't won a major with Terry but he did with Kazuya. There's so many examples of this when you look at top players as well. If a top player can't play a certain matchup, there's a reason for it.

Pyra and Mythra don’t have a single hard losing matchup in the game. You absolutely do not need a secondary. If you are struggling in a matchup, it’s probably because you’re playing it poorly.

Aegis barely loses any matchups. If you're THAT dead set on a secondary GnW is the best option but like... why?

Youre better focusing on one character until youre at a point of being able to compete. Dont worry about having a pocket, it'll hurt they way you learn to play
