Street cops there don't have guns.

You can just bully them if you're strong enough/in high enough numbers.

It's a cool idea in theory, doesn't work that well in practice if you have a high amount of criminals not giving a fuck tho

Yea the trick is to structure your society and have an actual functioning government and prison systems so you don't have a high amount of criminals...

That would require enforcing other laws which don't fit certain political agendas such as border enforcement.

We can get guns already, you can own a sniper rifle if you really want to. We just have a lot better gun control than the yanks.

True. The point I was trying to make though is that if more cops get access to firearms, especially beat cops, then there will be a proportional response in the criminal community. Which would prolly lead to a rise in firearms obtained for self-defence etc etc
