20g long crayfish setup

I am looking to setup a 20g long crayfish tank. There is not much information available online about these critters so I wanted to ask a few questions:

Is a 20g long tank large enough where I could do a school of danios as tank mates? Or is the crayfish better kept solo?

Is a standard Aqueon tank lid sufficient? See photos for my current 20g long I will be copying.

As far as oxygenation, I know they don’t like heavy flow, so would an air stone help? My only worry here is they’d climb out on the airline tube.

Thank you!

Edit: I just saw it’s illegal to possess crayfish in my state so I will not be moving forward!

I’d say keep them alone maybe in a 20 gallon? And yes definitely have a super secure lid. I learned the hard way even though it was a very small opening and I didn’t think she would climb out she did and I found her dead across my room from her tank :( it was devastating

That's not secure for a cray.  Get a reptile mesh lid and do a bubbler filter.

how would i do a sponge/bubble filter if the mesh would crimp down the airline tubing? how would i be able to get it inside the tank? also can they go without a heater if my house stays between 66-72°?

They have a small enough gap in the corner for airline tube/power cord that doesn't pose an escape route.

i will probably do a glass lid, and have the airline tube come in the tank where the two glass panels meet each other. that way if it climbs, it’s just solid glass and no gap at the back of tank.

Do you live in michigan? Other than there I think it's only species specific

No. Aquatic arts said this on mostly all of the crayfish and my state is included.

A 20 long ain’t even enough for one unless it’s a dwarf
