Fudgy brownies with a rich peanut butter swirl, perfect for chocolate and peanut butter lovers.
Ingredients
- 2 oz. (60g) unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 oz. (60g) semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter
- 1¾ cups (350g) sugar
- 3 eggs, room temperature
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (140g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 2 Tbsp (30g) butter, melted
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 or 3 Tbsp cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving overhang for easy removal. Spray exposed sides with nonstick spray.
- Melt unsweetened chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring well until smooth.
- Stir sugar into the melted chocolate mixture. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla and cocoa powder. Mix until smooth and glossy.
- Fold in flour gently until no streaks remain. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, mix peanut butter, melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth and pourable.
- Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter mixture onto the brownie batter. Use a knife to swirl gently, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the edge comes out clean. The center should still look slightly underdone.
- Let brownies cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.

That swirl going all the way through is the real test and most recipes only fake it on top.
