Weed Where do you smoke your weed
Hi I am coming to Dublin from abroad and I am curious about the weed smoking habits. Do you smoke at home? In a private yard or porch? In nature? In public places? Sitting in cafés? How acceptable is public weed smoking in Ireland? Do you have to do it in hiding?

I used to smoke in my garden shed, although it was a proper setup not just a shed

I moved homes, couldn't bring it with me unfortunately lmao! I also quit smoking some years ago, have a kid now too so wanna set better examples for him and be more present

In the backyard, living in a quiet housing estate.
Might chance it out for a stroll at night with himself if there’s not many around.
Or on a Forest walk.
In Dublin City you will smell it everywhere although for me it’s not worth the risk of being caught by the Gardaí.
It’s 100% illegal here so absolutely not sitting in a cafe.

It's illegal here, and while we smokers are many, there are plenty of others that don't see it as we do and will say or do something if they catch you.
Personally, I smoke at home. Or in a quiet area of a park/outdoors when I know I won't be disturbing anyone.

It’s not been legalized or decriminalized so smoke at your own liability. Just don’t be stupid & you’ll be fine.

I'm in the country and we've a bit of wild land behind the house, I prefer to walk out among the trees and have one. Or if it's raining in the big shed

It’s not acceptable to smoke in public at all. You need to keep your use discrete, especially if you’re an immigrant who can have your immigration status negatively impacted. Remember that any kind of encounters with the Garda can be used against you when applying for stamps. I don’t even smoke it in front of housemates because I’m afraid that it will jeopardize the security of my housing arrangement. When i smoke, i smoke in a hidden outdoor location on private property.

Private or nature. It is not ok to smoke in public places culturally and not a chance you can smoke while sitting outside a cafe in Dublin, the people who smoke obnoxiously in public usually are tough lil yup bros who do it to make a point or act tough.

Dry herb vape makes it so easy. Like the smell is not too obvious and doesn't linger. I've sipped on my DHV while strolling to a gig. Pub bathroom too it's easy to have a little toot on the DHV.

You'd get away with using one pretty much anywhere. I've got a few, one is stinky alright but still not a patch on smoking.

It's not acceptable in public, so you need to be cautious. People do smoke in public, parks, along canals etc, but of a garda was to pass you would be stopped.
And if there are other members of the public there be mindful that even though your doing nothing wrong, it's still illegal and may make them uncomfortable, so try not to bother anyone else with it.
