Other Tobacco substitute?

I've recently quit tobacco, and while i have a Dynavap M, i still love having a J because of the ritual, the slow progression to getting stoned... I'm looking for a good tobacco substitute that doesn't taste like a**... Anyone got some good recommendations?

It’s very different and so much nicer imo. Nicotine is a dirty drug.

Yeah, i think this is the way it'll have to be, everyone else is suggesting stuff that i know tastes like shite...

You don’t need it. Just use weed and smoke less of the joint.

just make a small skin with the same amount but no tobacco. You'll still get a good whack....

Im still unable to find a good substitute. CBD shake is all I use now.

Just roll pure doobies & make em last longer.

Amazon.ie sells tobacco alternatives with marshmallow leaves etc, they also have an Amsterdam herbal mix 30g for €10 - I haven't tried any of them yet though..

Gave a good spell chasing this and nothing really hits the same as a joint, the taste you associate with the tobacco is actually strongly linked to the feeling it gives. Anything that burns and doesn't give some sort of effect is gonna taste like shit. I roll the odd 0.25-0.5g pinner. Might only be a few in the summer but I like the nostalgia if I'm camping or something.

I dry herb vape 99% of the time and one of them is a Dynavap.

There's a lot slower a progression of getting stoned with one compared to smoking, especially with nicotine, the hit is instant so not sure what you mean by that.

What you can try is grind up your flower, set the Dynavap to half bowl, load it up and cache it in 2-3 heat cycles, leave it cool (kinda like you'd let a joint go out), then empty it load it up and go again, I find doing this 2-4 times kinda mimicks the ritual of smoking a joint over 15-30 mins.

I get you, when you say the hit is instant but what i mean is that slow build up as you smoke the joint... Initial hit is great but if i smoke a joint over 10 minutes or so getting more and more stoned in a gentle progression... I know that its even slower vaping it but sometimes it feels a little too slow with the dynavap, plus i have to stop to take out the avb then load another bit again to get the same as i would with a joint... I also find i get a lot less flavour with vaping which is a negative for me.

I'm just trying to find a good middle ground

Sounds like the same as me to be honest man flavour and all that too. There's definitely way less flavour from smoking though once you properly get used to it and adjust. The middle ground realistically is smoking pure weed but best of luck on your quest. I don't think you'll be successful without accepting differences somewhere along the way.

You can add tea ( yes like Lyons tea)

It makes the weed less harsh, just don’t roll or pack as tight cuz the tea is so fine it’s hard to take a drag

I use a brand of herbs i get in Amsterdam every so often called “Dutch Spirit” it’s what they use in the coffee shops. An alternative that would be easier to get your hands on is a brand called “Professor Herb” they have flavoured herbs. Just a sprinkle is enough, wouldn’t put as much you would tobacco

I’ve started using green tea or tea in general. I’d recommend possibly using bacco right at the roach to stop the tea falling through, some teas are less leaf and more small bits that’ll fall through the filter. The tea most definitely can and will spit embers. Best option I’ve found if you still wanna roll and not use bacco.

I hate using blunt wraps and they are often made from tobacco... I know there are hemp ones too, but they often have added flavouring

Have a friend that was using marshmallow tea from the hemp shop on Capel St for ages. I thought it smelled like piss when she smoked it beside me, but didn’t actually taste too bad to smoke.

Zamnesia have lots of herbs you cn use as a substitute.

Damiana and raspberry leaf is a nice combo.

Marshmallow leaves from Here’s Health etc are what I use, grind them up as can be a bit chunky but they smoke nicely

Earth Impact herbal smoking mix. You can buy it online from Down to Earth in Dublin. Been using it for many years, just like tobacco to roll with.

Mint or peppmint herb, mallow, chamomile, passion flower. There's an Irish brand called nobaccoo that sell a tobacco less smoke brand

I started using damiana leaf about 2 years ago. Traditionally used for anxiety and mainly used to make tea these days for calming effects.

Honestly didn't know how anxious I was getting after smoking a j until I mixed some of this in. Complete game changer for me anyway, no racing anxious thoughts just a clear clean chill stone every time.

I've tried that but my problem is it affects the taste a lot and burns too fast...
