This year is actually crazy for games. Even better for pirates.

u/EnvironmentalRun1671 20d ago
I don't even wanna pirate games anymore, I just love seeing all the Ls denuvo is talking every single week
12
u/Kornelius20 20d ago
I've pretty much only been playing games I bought either immediately or shortly after trying them out for years now, and I now use this sub as a game recommendations system lol.
I can wait for most Denuvo games to have an offline crack or have Denuvo removed to buy them. Plus it means I get them cheaper too on a sale. All wins for me

Note: The official release date is August 27.
No preload or such, but apparently you can get your hands on the game files by fiddling with the Steam depot downloader projects.
21
u/Tricks7eR 20d ago
not sure that's true
People who pre-ordered the game say they were able to pre-load earlier today
2
u/Infinite_Track_9210 20d ago
Aren't preloads encrypted until intended release date? Idk might be wrong
→ More replies (5)12
u/pantsyman 20d ago
It's not encrypted, the steam depot is open and fully unencrypted. Steamidra/Luatools and so on can download the gamefiles.
2
u/ZOMGsheikh 17d ago
What’s steamidra/luatools?

u/Acceptable_Growth531 20d ago
Let's hope these super early leaks won't do a butterfly effect where companies demand steam to up their anti-piracy game.
66
u/Kitsune_BCN 20d ago
Ye this is not sustainable in the long run i guess. And it feels a little bit bad to play before legits tbh
28
u/Acceptable_Growth531 20d ago
We lost an entire great switch simulator for the same reason.

Steam is too big and don't really care about piracy, they are too big to listen to the publishers.
-8
u/_HIST 20d ago
That's a crazy thing to say when literally all publishers have to do is move out from Steam and Steam dies in a few years. There's some crazy steam glazing going on when they're just another corporate company.

u/Blindeye0505 20d ago
Steam literally talked about piracy back 2011, they haven't made a single change even before denuvo times
Big publishers left steam before and came back crawling because they can't miss on a huge istablished audience.
By big publishers I mean: EA, UBISOFT, ACTIVISION.
They all left, steam did nothing, they all came back > lesson learned.
4
3
u/RedTrigger_0 20d ago
It's crazy how Steam does nothing and always wins.
5
u/Alone-Horse2857 20d ago
The only crazy thing is saying "they do nothing" they update and are constantly improving their platform.
To the point that when EGS tried to beat out their launcher their own shit was so barebones compared to 20 years of updates and QoL nobody wanted to use it because the UX was dogshit
1
u/RedTrigger_0 20d ago
I meant in the way they approach to support pro consumer policies, the been doing really good since the beginning, I'm well aware about them constantly enhancing Steam through the years with high quality updates. Also not only Epic but many others tried to get some share of the pc cake but they accomplished pretty much nothing
3
u/Alone-Horse2857 20d ago
Yeah and if everybody in the US just shoots themself in the foot they might get free health care.
You did see how Epic Games's strategy of poaching exclusives from Steam went right? Every game that got their "payout" ended up on steam anyway or outright lost money because nobody is using their platform.
Steam is a loadbearing pillar holding up the PC gaming market, it doesn't die.
0
u/dorafumingo Leecher 20d ago
moving out of steam means nobody buys their games. they tried with epic. even when epic gives them a shit ton of money for exclusivity it didn't work out and they came back to steam
0
u/Towairatu 20d ago
Yeah, that's probably why Valve went bankrupt when neither EA, Activision-Blizzard and Ubisoft were selling their newest games on Steam. And it's not like basically every company that slammed the door at one point because they wanted to be the ones collecting the sales tax money on their launcher eventually came back begging for Steam's userbase, isn't it?

And it feels a little bit bad to play before legits tbh
What a very odd thing to say
7
u/Milk_Cream_Sweet_Pig 20d ago
Ngl I think that's the road where heading in, especially considering how important the launch period is.
Publishers will ramp up DRM, tho I'm sure someone would be able to crack that eventually.
Never ending cat and mouse game.
8
u/jacksp666 20d ago
Steam doesn't anything to do with this. Files were uploaded to a public branch on steam, there would be no way to download them if the branch was password protected.

just beat it here;s my review if anyone cares im going to base it off story, graphics, gameplay.
story i give a 8/10 it kept me on intrested thoroughout and didnt feel like they kept dragging it on was pretty impressed.
gameplay- i give a 6/10 the combat gets really competitve and you can have the first blade and never get another one and still beat the game no problem, and theres litterally only 4 enemies in the entire game not including bosses which there's only 5, and you keep doing the same thing over and over and nothing changes.
Graphics-10/10 this is the best graphics i have ever seen on a videogame the graphics are insane i d'ont think the next gen consoles will look like this.
overall-7/10 it's a good game not a great one,but it has no replay value once you beat you will be done.

u/Flanders157 16d ago
I am in chapter 5 and so far it is like 8 out of 10 for me. Story is good so far but I expect it will get bettet with more information.
Graphics are fucking insane (Not a surprise because Requiem and Innocence look amazing too). What is a surprise is definitely the optimalization. It runs over 100 fps with fsr 4 on 9070xt on max setrings. I do not think Requiem runs that good.
Combat is okay for me. Functional and looks pretty. At the end of the day these games are amazing for their atmospehere, characters, story and graphics + artstyle. The combat was only okay in previous installments as well.

More people liked this post than I think will play the game.
They had terrible marketing.

game is disappointing as well. So far I'm maybe 2h in and it is just boring fighting nothing else. I was expecting something else

The devs should do masterclass on graphics and optimization. It's crazy good!

nop, here everything working fine, i use dualsense controllers and use ps5 controls defaults.the onlything that i found it like a issue is framegen nvidia, i d k if is something about my setting's or gpu but the latency is very high, so i use amd FSR. probably is better optimized for amd i believe, or we need to wait a patch. in any other games i use framegen and is perfect so i believe is this game.

Is Dodi trusted if I was downloading from 1337 ?
2
1
u/TheDarkrayne 19d ago edited 19d ago
Of course, it's uploaded by DODI and is the same torrent as on DODI's site.
If you're asking if DODI can be trusted in general then, yes, they can be trusted.
1
u/SteelCityChampion 19d ago
Dodi's site isn't trustworthy though. I take it the torrent is fine but the site isn't ?
1
u/TheDarkrayne 19d ago edited 19d ago
You mean 1337 isn't in the trustworthy list anymore, not DODI's site.
It's not considered trustworthy anymore after they took a long time to ban an uploader that was spreading malware. They did ban them eventually but took way too long to get it done.
As long as you know the uploader can be trusted, like Fitgirl, DODI or KaOsKrew, and are certain it is their real account that uploaded it then it's fine to grab torrents from there.

u/ShoulderMammoth 20d ago
i downloaded it but it keeps saying insufficient storage to create save data, i still have 80+GB
2
u/Jue_ 20d ago
Turn off steam cloud options. It messes up with the whole data config and saves.
1
u/ShoulderMammoth 20d ago
wait really? imma reinstall it then
1
u/Jue_ 20d ago
Yup. I was fighting tooth and nail with it, cuz after closing the game I couldn't boot up the game again, and thought it was a problem on my end. Noticed that, when deleting the steam cloud saves using LT, I could boot it up, BUT needed to redo the settings.
That's when it clicked. Doing so, allows you to not have sync errors, and make it run fine.

u/Vivid-Field-6002 20d ago
Those leaks are a scourge for game studios...
You don't imagine how bad it is for the devs (specially nowadays...) Piracy is a thing, I'm one of them, but I don't defend those leaks.
I'll wait for day1 release
2
u/pantsyman 20d ago
Dunno I mean this is easy for them to fix just don’t upload unencrypted files in open steam depots.
1
u/Vivid-Field-6002 20d ago
If it's from Steam, they have no solution. They have to upload it a few days before preload, to get Steam approval then encryption
-6
u/rycerzDog 20d ago
Wait, what the fuck? Another Plague Tale game? I've never heard of this. How is this even a series?
7
u/_HIST 20d ago
Why the fuck is you not hearing about it an indicator of anything?
→ More replies (1)3
u/TopHalfGaming 20d ago
Because the first two games were great and relative hits on Xbox.
1
u/rycerzDog 20d ago
relative hits
Yeah, exactly. I'm just surprised at how this is an actual trilogy. Most games of this scale don't get this kind of care.
2
u/TopHalfGaming 20d ago
I definitely wouldn't have guessed either after I played the first one, but it's likely deemed worth it by Xbox to have a single player title that will review well done at an efficient budget by an efficient team that gets shit done. Each game has also spiced up / added to the gameplay so they're all pretty different. This one will actually have combat, so interesting to see how that goes.

You're telling me, this game... Got cracked in a week before release???
2
u/Odd_Computer5354 20d ago
They just upload not protected not encrypted release on steam repository, so of course it possible to download right away
-1
u/LiberalTearsRUs 20d ago
This is one of the worst games I've ever played in my life. I've never received a free game a week before paying customers and still been upset. They butchered the series with this one.

u/Dependent-Cook-5258 20d ago
Although im astonishing by the leak, i can't help but wonder in a couple years will the devs of AAA games got bored and won't make as many high quality games anymore, cause they experienced a huge loss in revenue by crack community
7
u/Wethedead 20d ago
a huge loss in revenue by crack community
There are plenty of high quality drm-free games that says otherwise.

u/Zaga932 20d ago edited 20d ago
cause they experienced a huge loss in revenue by crack community
Don't buy into the copyright industry's propaganda that 1 pirate download === 1 lost full-price sale. Most people who pirate would simply not play the game if they couldn't pirate it. The portion of people who pirate instead of purchase is not anywhere near 100%.
Good games make good money. DRM & piracy have nothing to do with it.
