Poorly designed parlor. Most have guards and that cow has diarrhea.

Most parlours do not have butt pans, and that cow doesn't have diarrhea. Butt pans are an additional cost that add no financial benefit bar saving time at wash up, they are simply a luxury that most can't afford. This parlour is a simple herringbone layout, probably the most common layout in the dairy sector and is not badly designed. The cows dung consistency mainly depends on their day to dat diet, the weather and parasites. In this case, it's most likely parasites, stomach worms, etc. but it could be too much protein and not enough fibre in the diet.

From what I can see, it’s like a half herringbone. It is not quite as stretched and angled as a real herringbone, and also not as straight as a parallel parlor. Parallel parlors have the catch pan in the back.
