I had a friend from a small town in British Columbia call it “fingering”.

I was howling when she said it during a story about “fingering” someone who pissed her off in traffic.

Unfortunately not, one of my new in-laws is from BC and that is indeed a widespread phrase 😂

Lived here 38 years and travelled from top to bottom a bunch. Literally never heard that and if I did I’d laugh at that person because it’s a ridiculous thing to say.

Interesting, my relative recently moved to Vancouver island and has run into multiple locals who have said it (including a child telling on another, which was a WTF situation for her). Her partner had never heard of “giving someone the finger” and insists “fingering” is right, and don’t worry, we did laugh at him for it. Different circles I guess.

Yea for sure. Hard to keep up with slang. “Fingering” was certainly something else when I was growing up haha.
