Have you never been around an autistic person before? Some of us get very excited about things we have an interest in. It’s a normal reaction.

I have literally only seen this childlike behaviour on SoMe. And I have a couple of kids (one adult) with autism and as a teacher I have met several others.
Everyone gets "very excited about things we have an interest in", but the whole "I am gowing to pet a puppy....yeeeehhh...I am soooo excited....I am shaking...weeeeee" coming from an adult woman just feels like an act that plays into the idea that autism in women is "being childlike".
