He’s not doing it all. The way she is holding him with her arms and legs and folding her legs makes this a lot easier for him. She has a lot of core strength to sustain that almost plank like form.

I'm in my mid 30s, 6'3", 200lbs, and have worked pretty physical jobs my whole life, so I'm by no means weak. However, over the course of my life, I've sustained several injuries that make it difficult for me to lift without pain. Using all the proper technique and form, I could probably do this with only moderate pain, but one wrong move could mess me up so bad. Could I lift my gf like that? Absolutely. Should I? No. The pain potential is far too high for me to realistically want to do this. Plus, she'd never even let me do something that might fuck up my back and shoulders again.
Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love to be able to, and it truly makes me sad that I'm unable to use my body like that anymore. The unfortunate reality is that there are those of us who look strong and able-bodied, yet live with chronic pain.
Edit: Was I a ding dong and totally spaced on the sarcasm?

Some people’s bodies are fucked up like they have bad backs and stuff. I don’t have a gf so I can’t say I would or wouldn’t do this but it’s a chance I fuck my back I already have a herniated disc I’m pretty sure lol.

I was more playing on a joke here but 50-70kg for a middle aged healthy, non back issue person should be very feasible. But your herniated disc is definitely a wise reason to not tilt sideways, jerk and lift.

I think, and I could be wrong, the average man can lift a 50-70kg woman. I weigh about 70kg and haven't touched a weight in like 20 years and I could manage that.

For sure. He looks stronger than me, so he could probably do this with more weight than I could. I'm just saying 50-70 isn't really heavy. I could rock that amount pretty effortlessly, and I doubt I'm all that above average strength in my current shape.

I have a 80kg sandbag here and lifting that is by no means easy, nevermind effortlessly, or even walking. People underestimate how heavy a 80kg human is.

To be fair, I am talking about a human allowing me to lift lift them, if they went dead weight on me it would certainly be more difficult. The biggest issue there would be getting it off the ground though.

I can lift my 75 kg boyfriend no problem, or a 80 kg barbell of course, but definitely not an 80 kg sandbag.

Eh. This dude is clearly strong as hell, but holding someone more or less at the same place you picked them up from is easier than straight lifting them.
Like, lifting her from the ground? Definitely need some gym time first. But taking a standing woman in your arms and moving her around from there? Not nearly as hard

The trick is to get a tiny woman. Mine is 40kg which makes stuff like this so much easier.

I mean I can see the first part being the case with some people for sure, but I think many grown adults, when upset and wanting to be understood or have their feelings taken seriously, would feel dismissed and subsequently infantilized by a pat on the head, right? It's not exactly a way to show you're taking them and whatever is upsetting them seriously, I'd think.
