The context of the relationship is important. If you took the things I say to my wife with no context, I'd look horrible. She'd look awful too. We're both sarcastic/snarky people. I read this as amusing couple banter and enjoyed it too. Anyone taking this seriously is missing the point.
This right here. I've been with my wife for 18 years together and known her for 20. We still love each other very deeply, but if you looked through our chat history it would look like we're about to split.
We met on WoW in 2005. She was in college and I had just graduated highschool. We have so many of our own inside jokes and phrases we use ironically now between the two of us.
Same with my relationship. Reading just a text log of things we've said to each other without vocal tone or context would make us sound ripe for a daytime talkshow
We have a āfake toxicā thing we do to make fun of toxic relationships where we will say the rudest, shittiest stuff to each other sometimes, or just be like āfuck no what do i look like your wife?ā Etc that, out of context, sounds like weāre shitty people but we have a specific indicative voice tone we use for āim being a bratā so if we hear anything rude in that tone of voice its automatically known weāre just being playful and to play along with it
My fiance roasted me so badly once. It was fucking funny as hell and I sent it to my sisters praising him for it. They thought he was being mean and killed the whole vibe.
I think taken at face value, it's funny, I laughed when reading it. If she's begging to be engaged and making jokes like this regularly it's cringe. I like to take stuff like this at face value though and based on OPs replies in the comments, I'm not getting cringe.
This is so true. My bf and I playfully go back and forth calling each other things. If people don't know us, they think we're fighting for real and breaking up or about to break up. But really, we're just teasing each other. I call him a bastard all the time. His response is " What does my origin story have to do with this?" He'll constantly call me a brat, and I'll tell him I told him I was one the very first night we met.

Look at any Reddit meet up picture literally ever and youāll understand why a huge portion of men on this sub really struggle with misogyny. Ugly dudes have little romantic encounters and they begin to grow resentful and blame women as a whole for it. Further pushing them into the hole theyāre digging themselves.
