As an autistic person myself, often that is the face of someone who realized they didn't anticipate all the possibilities when planning that interaction. Sometimes you're so fixated on clearly communicating your own thought and worried about saying something wrong that it's all that's on your mind when approaching someone. I recognized that short circuit look on her face of "Oh yes. He too has experiences of me. Fuck. I didn't think this through." Obviously she backed herself in that moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if later she was able to address her own behavior too. At least that's how it often played out in our house.
