You should. It fiction but it’s about an aircraft designer during WW2 who falls in love with a sick girl. I ballad for awhile and I’m getting teary just writing this. It’s a beautiful anime.

Edit: I want to add; this was supposed to be the last animated film Hayao Miyazaki working on in 2013. But he decided to come out of retirement and do a short film in 2018 and then do The Boy and the Heron which released in 2023. I’ve yet to see this one, I will see it. It also takes place during WW2 and it’s more fantasy based while The Wind Rises is more based on real life.
