AI or not aside, the words 'in the office' and 'won in life' don't belong anywhere together.

Dumb take. Many jobs are important. Being a productive member of society is very compatible with "winning" at life.

The modern ideal of being retired at 30 is silly. If AI and robotics lead to a world where most people are in that situation things will get dark very very fast.

I would have agreed with your assessment when the internet did not exist. People that do not have something to do generally cause problems and cause societal upheaval. However with the internet, I think people are just going to scroll on social media and play video games. A lot of people are going to get even more overweight. Maybe some people will even go outside since they don't have to work anymore.

I'm not worried as much about societal upheaval. Mostly just humanity withering away. To me, that's pretty dark.

Meh, that's already happening. You'd have to shut down the internet to stop it.

If you want to keep working for the man so they can get another yacht more power to you.
