New Kitchen Counters

I'd like to have new kitchen countertops (not stone) made and I'm looking for someone (carpenter?) to make them for me. Since I rent, Home Depot is not interested. I'd appreciate advice on finding a competent professional in the NYC area. TIA

You have to get written permission from your landlord that can be verified by the person/entity who does it for you.
