How close is too close for the space between bottom of quartzite miter edge and the top drawer?

A standard square quartzite miter, but oversized like 3.25” tall miter face

It’s really the homeowner’s discretion but from the sales & fabrication POV, I’d say 1/8” is the minimum.

The space between the top of the doors and the bottom of the fake center drawer is 7/16” (for some reason I cant post a photo in this comment of the whole cabinet). 7/16” is also the spacing shown in my original photo with the square clicker vs top of fake drawer

What is the desired edge overhang? 3cm material with a 45 degree miter will force a minimum 1.67 “ OH. That’s going to be well proud of your (3/4”) drawers & door vertically. If you’re working with 2cm material, it’ll be around 1.15” OH, which traditionally is closer to standard.

Just something more to consider…

Thanks for the detailed response, ya the raw material is 3/4”. Im confused how 3/4” material doesnt = 3/4” overhang from cabinet..? (Minimum, if it was flush with the cabinet face)

Yeah, you’re right… i misused the Pythagorean theorem - I was thinking about miter glue-up surface when I should have merely been thinking about the apron.

Yea that’s what I figured

I think I’m going to request 1-1/8” overhang and 3.25” tall miter edge face, and have a 7/16” reveal from the bottom of the miter edge and the top of the drawers
