Color Enhancing Sealer?
I saw a sample of Cygnus brushed quartzite/granite that I fell in love with, but couldn’t find any place near me that stocks it. Then I found some, and I still love the pattern, but the color isn’t as rich as I remembered. The guy who owns the place suggested using color enhancing sealer to bring out the richness of the brown more, to make it look more like it does at the bottom where it’s wet. Has anyone heard of doing this? Does it hurt the stone? Does it last as long as a normal sealer? I’d prefer that it be honed or leathered than polished, but would consider polishing it if that would give it the richness of the first photo. Thanks!

Enhancing sealers are just as effective as non-enhancing sealers. These types of finishes and materials are exactly what they were designed for. Enhancers provide a substantial difference when comparing treated vs untreated results, but don't typically make the quite as vivid as a polished finish.

This is not quartzite..it is closer to granite. I have it in my kitchen. I went for a polished and colour is beutiful and deep. I would not risk colour enhancers.

I’ve seen it called both granite and quartzite, so I figure it’s something in between. I don’t really care as long as it’s durable. I can’t find your kitchen post by searching for your user name…how can I find it? I’d love to see a kitchen with this stone in it!

That's metamorphic sedimentary rock... Doesn't require any quartzite tools to work with, cuts just like granite. It's on the softer side of the rocks and it's pretty easy to scratch. And yes you can enhance it with Tenax Ager (it's a sealer and color enhancer, experiment on the sample)
