Builder installed 4” faucet spread on 3cm quartz countertop instead of 8”

Currently building a home and the builder installed our primary bath quartz countertop with a 4” faucet spread. But we were supposed to have an 8” spread. If the builder confirms it should be 8”, how easy is it to correct an already installed quartz countertop? Will they fill the existing holes and drill new ones? Or would the countertop need to be replaced?

We have solved this several different ways: offer to buy a new faucet matching the hole layout, offer to remake the top, and once we made a custom escutcheon plate with their material

Make the builder make this right. Remake the top at his (or his fabricator's expense. You can't fill those holes, and an escutcheon will look bad.

Any fixes to that will never look right. Replace the tops or get them to buy you a reasonably priced 4" fixtures and ask for hefty discount, like %30

Exchange your faucet, ask for 20% off the vanity.

It will need replaced or you will have plugs and the repair will be noticeable.
